Siddharth sings for 'Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi'

Like his close friend Shruthi Haasan, Siddharth too is a multi-faceted personality, we must say. The actor, who had earlier crooned 'Adada Adada...' in 'Santosh Subramanyam', is at it again. He has lent his voice for his good friend and 'Boys' co-star Thaman.

Siddharth is playing the lead role in 'Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi', a movie directed by debutant Balaji, who hogged the limelight with a talent hunt for aspiring filmmakers on a television channel. And music for the bilingual (Tamil-Telugu) is by Thaman, who is now a top composer in Tollywood.

Thrilled about working with Siddharth in a Kollywood venture after 'Boys', Thaman wanted his pal to sing an interesting number in 'Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi'. The actor, who was happy to accept the offer, crooned it like a seasoned singer, sources in the know say.

"Working with an old friend on the new film. Hotshot music composer Thaman," Siddharth, who is sharing the screen space with Amala Paul in this film, expressed happiness on his micro-blogging page.

Know about 3 Avatars of Suriya in 7am Arivu

The Diwali fever has set in and four biggies are gearing up to see light of day on the festival of lights, one of the films being Suriya starrer '7aum Arivu'. The film has Suriya, Shruti Haasan in lead roles with music by Harris Jayaraj whilst direction is by AR Murugadoss.
 https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/304931_291708214188588_213982395294504_1236748_1741887137_n.jpg
The first look that was unveiled had one of the characters played by Suriya which is that of a monk and his look as an aggressive monk in the posters was an instant hit among critics and fans. The movie starts of with Suriya in this look, and for these twenty minutes a huge sum has been shelved by the makers.

At a press conference that was held recently, Murugadoss expressed that it throws light on Bodhidharman a martial arts expert who is still worshiped in China. Huge sets have been erected to showcase the Shaolin Temple (for the construction of which he strived) and there's also a Chinese song in this part of film that goes 'Rise Of Damo...' with lyrics by Madhan Karky.

Suriya's second look is that of a circus artist and is set in contemporary period, where he woos a young scientist, Shruti Haasan who plays Subha Srinivasan in the film. This avatar of Suriya is introduced to us through the song 'Oh Ringa Ringa...' that has been canned at live locations in busy streets of Chennai with over a 1000 dancers! A series of events lead to the duo unraveling past mysteries and taking a journey backwards in time, say sources in the know.

However one of the surprises in the film will be Suriya's look as an emperor where he shares screen space with Abhinaya of 'Nadodigal' fame. It is in this part of the film where Suriya uses a black stallion extensively, which was also auctioned away recently for a good price. The cast and crew are tight-lipped about this character played by Suriya.

'7aum Arivu's rights were sold for a whooping price in Kerala recently and expectations are raving high on this film, especially after the trailer screening during the audio launch. Post your feedback in here about these looks and makeovers of Suriya and which role of his are you most excited to watch on big screen!

The Chinese song in 7aum Arivu is turning out to be the talk of the town and Harris Jayraj's efforts are being praised by all music buffs. While speaking about composing this particular song, Harris Jayraj said that he had procured three Chinese instruments from an antique shop in China and had one of his assistants to learn playing it for three months and began composing the song.

The music director said that though the Chinese instruments are being used in the Kuthu songs in Tamil films, it was a real challenge to find authentic 6th century instruments for this song in 7aum Arivu. He added that he was happy to have found such instruments and that was the reason for the song coming out well.

Genelia says - No marriage plans untill 2012

Genelia has come out sturdily against rumours that she is getting married to actor Riteish Deshmukh any time soon.

"I am not getting married in 2012," says Genelia, who was in Hyderabad to walk the ramp.
http://www.mid-day.com/imagedata/2011/sep/23genelia.jpg
She adds with impatience, "We have been married off quite a few times as well. I don't know why some people are in a tearing hurry to marry me off."

On her long-time friendship with Ritesh moving to the next level after they were seen together at Akshay Kumar's party, she says, "Frankly, I dislike discussing my personal life. I would like to say that Riteish is a close friend. I have six films on the floors including three Bollywood films. My packed schedule doesn't allow any time for marital bliss."

About the trend of actresses from the South giving Bollywood a shot, she says, "I can't comment about others but I have been doing South films to showcase my versatility and to expand my fan base which already covers six languages."

In fact, her first Malayalam film Urumi was a hit and missed an Oscar nomination by an inch. "Director Santhosh Sivan told me that we missed it by just one vote. Working on the film was fascinating," she adds.
Regarding working with Ramcharan and Rana, she said: "Ramcharan is an introvert and Rana is very talkative. But both of them are dedicated and down-to-earth, despite being from star families," she says.

"Actors Ram and Siddharth are my good friends and we spend time together whenever I am here," she adds.

Ajith is shooting brisk for Billa 2, buoyed by the success of Mankatha. Directed by Chakri Toleti, the movie’s shooting is progressing at quick place. Initially it was reported that the second schedule would be shot in Goa. However the sources say the shooting is on at a secret location.

The movie is a prequel to Ajith’s earlier Hit Billa. He appears in a stylish make-up. Buzz is that the script has been little fine-tuned after Mankatha’s success. Expectations have grown leaps and bounds after mankatha and keeping that in mind, some commercial elements are added in the movie.

Billa 2 might hit the screens early next year. Ajith is tight-lipped when queried about Billa 2 expecting heaping laurels on his director Chakri Toleti.

Straight from the horse’s mouth and it was silence everywhere in the area, where the media interaction was hosted. Yeah! It all started when a journalist oppugned A R Murugadoss, ‘Like Mementoes to Ghajini, could you let us know your inspiration for ‘Ezham Arivu’?’ Without a pause, A R Murugadoss stunningly replied, “Maybe, makers of Hollywood film may remake it.”

‘WHAT IS OPERATION RED?’-THEME OF ‘EZHAM ARIVU’

It all happened during the press meet of ‘Ezham Arivu’ that was held yesterday at Hotel Residency Tower in Chennai. Addressing the media channels, A R Murugadoss and his entire crew didn’t miss to sing praises of Red Giant Movies Udhayanidhi Stalin for making it happen. ‘No one else would have burned candles at both ends for a newfangled project’ started off Murugadoss, who continued adding that it’s a shame and disgrace for the entire state of Tamil Nadu for having forgotten a hero – BODHIDHARMAN, who is worshipped as a God in China and Vietnam. He is the Guru of Shaolin Monks and spread Zen across the country. He is a medical scientist and Osho has authored a book on him for more than 300 pages. ‘I am sure that the film has already achieved 99% success and the result of 1% is awaited on Diwali’ added A R Murugadoss.

‘Harris Jayaraj frightened urging us to strike with grandiloquence.’- Suriya

‘After you are done watching this film, it’s time for every Tamilian to stand proud and say ‘We are the best in this world’ and so will be the film. We are happy to have unraveled the hidden history’ said Suriya, who was high on praises for his director A R Murugadoss and producer Udhayanidhi Stalin. Continuing to shed lights on the legend Bodhidharman, Suriya uttered, ‘Soon after the release of this film, he will be once again acclaimed as a special person in the history of Tamil history.

‘Suriya is a Galaxy in himself’-Shruthi Haasan

Suriya and A R Murugadoss didn’t miss to bring the assistant directors into the picture saying that they were astonished by their fascinating knowledge about everything under the sun. The technical team has been remarkable and after a long time we will happen to see the credits of cinematographer Ravi K Chandran in a Tamil movie.

So get ready for the big Diwali treat of ‘Ezham Arivu’ on October 26.

Genelia's character sees a change

We know that Genelia D' Souza dons the role of female lead in the 'Khaakha Khaakha' Hindi remake, 'Force', and the original Tamil version had Jyothika. The film has John Abraham essaying protagonist whilst Suriya played lead in the Tamil version. But the actress's character in the Hindi version is not exactly that of Jyothika's in the Tamil original, as some crucial changes have been made.
While Jyothika played Maya, a school teacher, Genelia is playing the role of a social activist, who is always there to help the needy. "Though Jyothika's role is a well-written one, the makers of the Hindi remake felt that Genelia might not fit in a teacher's shoes," say sources.
Confirming this, the 'Santosh Subramanyam' and 'Sachin' actress says, "Yes, some important and interesting changes have been made to the original script. And that includes a complete overhaul of my character. I play a social activist and am thrilled to do the role."
When asked whether she had watched 'Khaakha Khaakha', Genelia says, "Yes, of course. I had watched the Suriya-Jyothika starrer many times. Jyothika had beautifully enacted the role and I would like to repeat the magic, but in a totally different way."

Sameera wants to do item numbers

Item numbers, or special songs, have these days become safe bets for top actresses to earn instant fame and quick money. So joining the list of female stars who are game for shaking legs in a single song is Sameera Reddy, whose 'Vedi' is hitting the screens this Friday.
"An item song has become an important ingredient for a film's success. I can tell you many examples like Munni... and Sheila... So I am eagerly looking forward to appear in some interesting special numbers," the 'Vaaranam Aayiram' girl says.
Justifying her decision further, she says, "Besides adding glamour quotient to the films, such numbers also grab many eyeballs. In fact, item songs have become synonymous to the box office success of movies of late. There is nothing wrong in doing it."
On 'Vedi', she says, "I play a very interesting role in it and I am happy a lot to work with Prabhu Deva master. He is not just a celebrated choreographer, but a talented filmmaker too. Vishal is very co-operative and we became very good friends."
