This harry potter film is very much in the news since the makers of the movie announced that it was going to be the last movie of the harry potter series. Warner Bros and director David Yates have decided to spilt the seventh edition of harry potter book. The combination of Warner Bros and director David Yates has made this movie fantastic for the viewers to watch.

After a decade of amazing adventure, ultimately this summer is the actual bystander of how epic is the showdown between light and dark, good and evil when 'The Boy Who Lived' comes face to face with 'He Who Shall Not Be Named'. As the series evolves from Chris Columbus' fanciful kiddie-like dreamworld to something much more dark and complex, and this is where the climax that the entire movies have built towards finally plays out. One of the most successful film franchises in history finally draws to its emotional close, also suddenly reminding us of quite how lovingly constructed the franchise's four directors have crafted its on-screen presence over the years. And wrapped very properly with the highest scale of visual exposition that surpassed any of the other films and fused with the equal heart and emotion as Part I, "Deathly Hallows Part Two" truly solidify its place as one of the best final chapters of any movie franchise ever.

# After all, this final chapter is the ultimate showdown where only one side can win, and therefore, for once in a Harry Potter movie, the action is completely tense, thrilling and breathtaking from start to finish.

# The film left no time to waste and immediately reaches the first highlight of the magic with one of the finest looking dragons of movie history. The spectacular scene also designed specially for an eye-popping 3D experience.

# Though Part II was always meant to be an action-packed, high class special effect show off, yet unlike the mind-numbing action of "Transformers", here you feel totally invested in the protagonists' plight since the filmmaker chooses to touch audiences rather than wow them.

# Director David Yates doesn't forget to insert as much heart as before in the storytelling. The most emotional moment in the film is likely come from the justification for Severus Snape's (Alan Rickman), one key sequences in the film and, perhaps, its best. Rickman himself undoubtedly does an outstanding job again here, gave the ever-enigmatic Snape some true soul.

# Screenwriter Steven Kloves translates Rowling's apocalyptic plot to the script with flair, managed to make a narrative line that satisfies as a conclusion without overplaying it.

# Thanks to a cast of terrific actors who convey the powerful and nuance performances also has gotten so good at bringing the details of the story to life. Even those who appear just briefly like John Hurt as the wandmaker Ollivander, Ciaran Hinds as Aberforth Dumbledore, and Gary Oldman as Sirius Black are so pitch-perfect.

# Harry's final showdown with Voldemort has given Radcliffe his best performance of the series. Carrying the movie on his shoulders, he has matured into confident young actor and puts forward some of the finest and most nuanced act as the narrative barrels towards its conclusion.

# The always excellent Ralph Fiennes in Voldemort skin is again presents the strongest, vicious, and most memorable performance ever as one of the biggest villain in movie history. When he spoke the Parseltongue, the language of snakes, is particularly chilling.

# Grint and Watson also seem to have more and more vanished into their characters. The emotional core the two have managed to create over the years with Radcliffe is what's made this series special, more than the spectacular effects

# As this is also the last we'd see all the beloved Hogwarts professors including McGonagall (Maggie Smith), Slughorn (Jim Broadbent) , Flitwick (Warwick Davis) - as well as the members of the Order of the Phoenix- Remus Lupin (David Thewlis), Kingsley Shacklebolt (George Harris), Molly Weasley (Julie Walters)- and Yates provides each principally sufficient screen time for the heroic send-off they honestly ought to have.

# Walters, as Mrs Weasley, delivers a surprisingly stronger than ever performances here. She even has a particularly good moment when she gets to spit the line: "Not my daughter, you bitch!" at Helena Bonham Carter's Bellatrix.

# Matt Lewis as Neville Longbottom also shines bright and stealing each of his scenes, further exemplify the supporting cast's weight.

# Alexandre Desplat, the gifted French composer of "The King's Speech", produce a score that perfectly serves to boost the high stakes drama in the picture and even able to tie the series together.

# The ultimate battle, when Voldemort storm the Hogwarts with Death Eaters, Dementors, giants and large tarantulas, is as thrilling visualized on film as it was described on the pages of Rowling's book.

# The 3-D glasses are fortunately useful enough, the device made the battle scenes looks more impressive with the depth of field that suggests action in a real place. Also the scenes delving into Gringotts' vaults or a Hogwarts' secret room immerse us wonderfully to this magical world.

# While always have somewhat a bumpy ride when it comes to delivering on the expectations of its audience, it's truly remarkable that Yates has managed to wrap up the series with a finale that's as moving, spectacular and engaging for both die-hards and casual fans alike.

Deiva Thirumagal Tamil Movie Review (Story)

Review by : Talkies Review Board

Starring: Vikram, Anushka, Amala Paul, Santhanam,
Direction: AL Vijay
Music: G V Prakash Kumar
Production: UTV Motion Pictures

"Simpler a thing is, nobler it is", said the legendary Sathyajith Ray. He would have reiterated his stance now had he watched Krishna (Vikram) in Deiva Thirumagal.

What would you call someone who is an embodiment of all things good, simple and virtuous but appears in the eyes of blemished materialistic world as aberrated? A Deiva Thirumagan, indeed!

DT is a poetical tale of love and affection between a dad and his 5 year old daughter who is the raison d'être of his life. He may be a mentally challenged person to the world but he is after all her dad.

Director Vijay's caliber as an effective raconteur keeps escalating in every film of his and DT is the latest example. His matured handling of the script and his characters are just testimony to this. It is endearing to watch this tale unravel itself in a very charming and touching fashion.

There are no villains in DT but all the characters are driven by the goodness exuded by its lead Vikram. One of the first frames, where Krishna helps the pickpocket guy sums up his characterization. The subsequent shots of him abiding the traffic signal, wanting to stick to truth only and helping a hatchling to its nest lucidly spells forth his character. In a way, it is Vikram all the way…

What can you say about this actor whose sincerity and talents that are not already known? It is not Vikram you see but it is Krishna and a dad wanting to be with his daughter suffering the pangs of separation. He has done the tightrope walking of playing a mentally challenged person to the hilt. A little sway on any one side would have worked detrimental to him as an actor and the film. The seasoned actor that he is has given a brilliant performance.

Anushka looks ravishing and as a struggling lawyer gets her act right wanting to bring justice to her client. Santhanam's comedy gels along with the story line and brings in enjoyable lighter moments. Nasser as the intelligent and cunning senior advocate Bhashyam is apt and delivers a veteran's performance. However it is baby Sara who steals the show next only to Vikram in her angelic looks and performance. There is a serene look about her which helps the role majorly and her understanding of her dad and playing to his inadequacies warrant accolades. Amala Paul has a small role and delivers it right. The supporting casts of Y Gee Mahendra, Sachin Khedekar, Karthik Kumar, Krishna Kumar, Surekha, M R Kishore and Priya have also essayed their roles quite effectively. .

Setting the right kind of mood through his camera work has been cinematographer Nirav Shah's forte which he has adhered to in DT. Nirav has had a field day in Vizhigalil Oru Vaanavil number which is aesthetics at its best. Anushka's expressions in this sequence and the oblivious Vikram behind her on the bike are a revelation. The sleek and discreet editing helps the proceeding in a big way. G V Prakash's scores are already chartbusters and each track adds significant value to the film. Ore oru oorukkula number is sure to be children's favorite

Dialogues like "Vakil kitayum doctor kittayum poi pesa koodathu, aana vakillum doctorum poi pesalam" and 'Saamikku amma kedayaada' are noteworthy. There are quite a scenes that tug at your heart's strings and almost all of them happen between the dad and the daughter, the cream being the one between them in the court room towards the end and that on the first day of Sara's school where the duo communicate with each other in sign language.

On the flip side a few scenes involving M S Bhaskar and the helper don't add value to the progress of the film. However considering the overwhelming positive feeling that the film evokes in its entirety, these foibles can be forgiven.

After a long while, DT gives the satisfaction of watching a film without cringing in your seats or worrying how it would appeal to the young population. In short Deiva Thirumagal is a well nuanced film that will appeal to everyone who has their heart and feelings in the right place.

‘Harry Potter…Deathly Hallows 2′ – a shallow end – Movie Review

http://way2online.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Harry-Potter-and-the-Deathly-Hallows.jpgFilm: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2″; Director: David Yates; Actors: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Ralph Fiennes; Rating: **1/2
All good things must come to an end and so does the journey of the name that launched a trillion dollar industry and burnt countless fans down in lawsuit.
But there are only two problems – this is not the end of the Harry Potter franchise and neither were all the films in it good, including this last one that seems like an unexpected whimper if you are not a big Harry Potter fan.
Harry Potter (Danielle Radcliffe), with his friends, rushes to find and destroy the remaining Horcruxes even as Lord Voldemort gathers forces against him. In a final confrontation between good and evil, good triumphs as Harry saves the day, Hogwarts School and a trillion dollar franchise that gave the world its first billionaire writer.
Carrying on with the tradition of the first part, the film stays closest to the book as compared to the first six parts. And therein perhaps lies its biggest problem. It is slow and dimwitted compared to the book and has lines that are at best, juvenile. Sample this: after seeing her daughter being attacked, a mother lets out a scream, "Not my daughter, you bitch!", and saves her.
This is the sort of writing you'd expect in a B-grade movie, not a high-budgeted Hollywood blockbuster. Agreed that from a children's film, this has graduated to a teen semi-horror flick, yet, such atrocious writing will go well only with juvenile minds.
And indeed, minds soaked in the nostalgia of a franchise that comes to an end will gloss over the spectacular special effects in the film, and of seeing their imagination come to life and a satisfying conclusion on the big screen. They will not notice that the film is full of bad direction, terrible acting and completely childish plot executions.
And that is where the problem lies, not just with the film, but with its audience who have abandoned craft and quality to nostalgia and fame. Perhaps they are justified, after all, this film marks the end of the Harry Potter universe. But does it really?
After the fan base of Harry Potter swelled post the first book, the owners of the book and movie franchise have been overtly possessive and protective of what is obviously their biggest cash cow.
Fans of Potter who have come out with spin-off stories or content in the Harry Potter universe have been slapped with thousands of lawsuits worth millions of dollars in the last decade. Obviously, if they anticipated the end of Harry Potter, the owners wouldn't have gone through so much trouble.
And it is indeed not the end. Warner Bros. has already opened the first of many Disneyland styled theme park in Orlando, and the book sales have only intensified over the years with translations in many more languages in the offing. And though there's no indication, one can't rule out a TV series either.
So fans of Harry Potter can rest assured, Harry Potter fought the odds and survived in the end, and so will his franchise. Indeed, for all we know, this might just be the beginning.
