Vijay happy with the success of Velayudham audio
Vijay said “It is just because of my fans I am here in this position. They have supported me in each and every step of mine all through journey. Not only that they have the audio launch of Velayudham a memorable event in my life. I am overwhelmed with the response and the affection showered on me. My fans are important to me as how I am important to them”.
The audio sales have created a record as not even a single CD was left with Sony and this is said to be new record in Tamil cinema. It is also known that audio CDs are completely sold out and the team is working on getting a repeat of the entire order.
The album has six tracks and Chillax sung by Karthik & Charulatha Mani Mayam is topping the charts. The rest of the songs are one of its kind and are outstanding soulful.

Ashok Parwani, Sony Music Entertainment Chennai said “Velayudham has broken all records and we have sold all our units within a day of its launch. The soundtracks are original, touching and outstanding. We’re sure that the compositions will go down in history as some of the best melodies of our times. The response we got for the audio is overwhelming”.
Out of all the six tracks Chillax sung by Karthik & Charulatha Mani Mayam is topping the charts. The rest of the songs are one of its kind and are outstanding soulful.

SONY MUSIC SELLS ALL MUSIC CD’S ON THE 1ST DAY OF ITS LAUNCH!
August 28th 2011, Chennai: Sony Music Entertainment, a leading global music company and a dominant player in the South Indian music market, witnessed a never before launch as the company sold all the CD’s of the music awaited movie Velayudham on the first day of its launch. Adding to the excitement, Madurai had over 1 lacs fans who attended and cheered through the entire event.
Commenting on the successful launch and the huge crowd at Madurai, Ashok Parwani, Sony Music Entertainment Chennai, said, “We are overwhelmed with the response the movie and the music has received. Velayudham has broken all records and we have sold all our units within a day of its launch. The soundtracks are original, soulful and memorable. We’re sure that the compositions will go down in history as some of the best melodies of our times.”
Sony Music Entertainment tied up with one of the leading Radio channels of Tamil Nadu for this launch where the RJ chatted up exclusively with Vijay Anthony, the Music Director of Velayudham. During the one hour special session on the channel, thousands of Vijay’s fans tuned in to listen to the premiere of the music tracks while the director himself recounted his experiences during the recording. Additionally, Sony Music had launched an online pre booking offer which has also witnessed a tremendous response.
Velayudham directed by M. Raja stars Vijay, Hansika Motwani and Genelia D'Souza in lead roles. The movie is scheduled to launch (month) 2011
Sony Music plans to leverage its digital delivery infrastructure to ensure that all music lovers can access the Velayudham songs legitimately. These songs will be available through Nokia ovi store as well as through legal downloads on the internet. Sony Music is also leveraging its partnership with mobile operators to ensure that songs are available to the music lovers and fans as callberback ringtones and through other streaming avenues on the mobile platform.

Vijay’s Velayudham Audio was released today(August 28th) in a grand function at CSI Ground in Pudhur, Madurai. Illayathalapathy Vijay was escorted by 100 cars from the madurai airport to the the venue and it was festival like mood in madurai.
Velayudham soundtrack consists of 6 tracks and the music has been scored by Vijay Antony. Within 5 hours of the audio Launch, the entire Velayudham audio CD’s are sold out. Due to this, Sony Music India have started to reprint more audio CDs to meet the demand. This level of record breaking success hasn’t been achieved in the past, and it has broken the audio record sales of Endhiran and Mankatha.

The audio of Vijay's Velayudham was launched yesterday amidst cheers from the thousands of fans. The music album was officially released by some of the Kaavalan star's fans in style at Pudhur CSI Grounds in Madurai.
The mega-event was different in many ways. The audio launch function saw the actor's concern towards the socially backward classes, as Vijay gifted cattle, computers and many other articles for the needy. The other highlight of the function was that the Gilli actor made his fan from Madurai and Thanjavur to unveil the music album.
Vijay along with Hansika Motwani, Vijay Anthony, Jayam Raja, SA Chandrasekar, Viveka and many others attended Velayudham audio launch function. But Genelia D'Souza could not attend the event because she was busy filming her other project

Velayutham songs - sneak peek
Sangeetha Rajeswharan will send the listeners in soothing moments with her melodious number titled ‘Mayam Seidhayo’. Vijay Anthony takes up couple of songs ‘Vela Vela’, which sounds like a theme song and another one is ‘Sonna Puriyadhu’.
While Mark shares the track with the music director in ‘Vela Vela’, it’s Veera Shankar keeping company with him in other track.

the song. It's a track that is as subtle as it is sublime.

What can't be denied is that the track easily deserves its place in the play lists of modern-day collegiate grungesters. We have got nice rap composition sprinkled with English versus and professional cool elements mixed up. Krishnan Mahesan gets an honorable mention as a rap enthusiast. This song gets points for its catchy lyrics and hipster vibe.

Vijay Anthony, with his minimal electro throbs and dreamy interludes produce a simple song that is alluring.
Paired with Sangeetha Rajeshwaran's warm, engrossing voice, this song become much more than just a simple melody. The lyrics (Annamalai) dig deep into the emotional territory making it a beautiful soothing song.
Yuvan Yuvathi is a mixed bag for youth, with hippy dance-floor tracks to soulful melodies and peppy numbers that deserves a special appreciation for the efforts put by Vijay Anthony. "24 hours" and "Kadai Poduran" for its youthful spirit and "Un Kannai Partha Piragu" for its scintillating melody are meant to be adored.
Verdict: Yuvan Yuvathi is good collection of youngish and stylish songs.
Velayudham songs Leaked & available on net
Reports claim that the bits and pieces of some of the songs of Velayudham have hit the internet with bang. The unedited version of three numbers were leaked by unknown person, claims a report. The makers of the film are shocked by the development, as the master CD is still with them. Though, they have taken measures to protect it by not allowing anyone during the filming of the songs, yet those were leaked.

Vijay Anthony compositional music of Velayudham will be officially launched on August 28 in Madurai. It would probably become Vijay's biggest ever music release of his career, as the makers of the film are planning to unveil the audio in a grand manner by giving the Kaavalan star's entry to the venue in an impressive style.
Vijay, Genelia D'Souza and Hansika Motwani starrer Velayudham is expected to hit the screens in September first week. It is directed by Jayam Raja and produced by Aascar Ravichandran.
