Muran, Vaagai Sooda Vaa & Vedi this friday

 

Perhaps, a completley entertaining Friday for the audiences of Tamil film industry. These films are literally normal when it comes to star-values, but differs in style of genres. Vishals’ ‘Vedi’ as known earlier is a remake of Telugu movie ‘Shouryam’ that is directed by Prabhu Deva. The film stars Sameera Reddy in female lead role while Vivek is on the humorous quotients. The film will be a special treat for mass audiences.

Muran on the contrary is completely different as it may serve the tastes of multiplex audiences for its style and sleek quotients. The film features Cheran and Prasanna in lead roles with three heroines starring opposite them in female lead characters. Touted to be a taut thriller, the film has already a good business across the areas.

Last to arrive is director Sargunam’s ‘Vaagai Sooda Vaa’ that is a semi-period movie starring Vimal and Iniya in lead roles. Again, buzzes are that the film might strike some similarities with the foreign film ‘The Road Home’.

Let’s wait and watch how the receptions are gonna be on the row for these flicks hitting screens on September 30.

9 Movie releases in Queue for next 9 Days!

It is just 9days left for the month of September to end and we have 9 films in queue which are waiting for their releases.

This Friday, September 23^rd four films are set to hit the screens- Aayiram Vilakku, Aduthuaduthu, and two other small films. These small films are getting released this week and are shown on television the following week as "puthan puthiya padam"!

Coming to long Navarathri weekend, i.e. September 29 & 30, atleast five films are hitting the screens. Sun Pictures Vedi is going to release on September 29^th and this is closely followed by UTV's Muran on September 30. The rest three are going to small films Ra Ra, Thandavam, and others.

Joining the battle on the Tatkal Waiting List, we have Ambuli, Vaagai Sooda Vaa, Ra Ra and Varnam.

Poonam Kaur's re-entry in Vedi

Actress Poonam Kaur who appeared in SAC's Nenjirikkum Vare and Payanam is keeping her fingers crossed as her next project in Tamil Vedi is nearing its release date.

Poonam has done a meaty role and moreover it is an important role in the film. She has done the role of Vishal's sister in the film and in the original version Souryam to the actress has done the same role.

Poonam says "I have decided not to do the same role again that I did in the original version Souryam, but I have accepted the offer as the film is directed by Prabhu Deva.  I am happy I got a chance to work with Prabhu Deva master, who I admire a lot. I am planning to do good films by maintaining a fine balance between glamour and performance".

Vishal refuses to act under debutant directors?

There is news that Vishal is refusing to act in debutant directors films. When asked Vishal about this, he said, "We had acquired the rights of the Telugu film Souryam two years ago itself.

We had planned to make this film after Avan Ivan. At the same time we happened to see the Telugu film Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana. Immediately I called him to direct Veddi. My character in the film is called Prabhakaran.

I don’t want to get into controversy and the story is also not controversial hence the film was titled Veddi. I always have great regard to new directors. I myself have worked as an assistant director. Because of this I know the life and pain of new directors."

Vedi is likely to release on September 29

 

Vishal-Sameera Reddy's Vedi is likely to grace theatres on September 29, 2011. According to sources, director Prabhu Deva is taking special care to make the songs appear unique on screen. The talkie portions are already complete and the post production works are progressing at a rapid pace. The sizzling chemistry between Vishal and Sameera Reddy is one of the major highlights of Vedi.

Music composed by Vijay Anthony was launched in Chennai recently. According to sources, Vedi is about a Tamil family staying in Kolkata. It is also about the hero, who is in search of somebody.

The film is produced under Vishal’s home banner GK Film Corporation. The film is a remake of the Telugu super hit Sowryam with Gopichand and Anushka in the lead roles. Reportedly Sameera plays the role of a fun-loving college girl Paaro. Sameera will try her hand at comedy for the first time in this film.

Sun Pictures bagged the theatrical rights of Vedi

 

One of the biggest market leaders in Kollywood Sun pictures has reportedly snapped the theatrical rights and all other rights of Vedi.

Trade is at a buzz that Sun pictures have bagged the rights for an undisclosed high amount. This will be their next big release after Ajith's Mankatha. The team is currently canning songs in Ladakh and with this the Vedi's shoot gets completed pos which the team will be heading to other pending works.

Vedi is the remake of Telugu film Souryam, Vishal plays the role of a cop while Sameera Reddy will play his heroine in the film. Vivek as comedian and Poonam Kaur is playing Vishal's sister. The music give by Vijay Antony received mixed response.

Vedi is an action packed entertainer which is going to release on September 29th for the big Vijayadasami holiday weekend.
