Actor Jai had been in and out of his share of controversies. In his stint in the industry, he has faced brickbats, received bouquets and seen some hits and many flops. Jai, who is presently looking forward to his upcoming film ‘Engeyum Eppodhum’ opposite Anjali, is said to be ‘in love’ with the doe-eyed actress.
Except for ‘Subramaniapuram’, which was a successful venture for a variety of reasons, Jai hasn’t had any significant hit film in the past few years but is surprisingly in the reckoning. The actor debuted in a major role with Venkatprabhu’s ‘Chennai 600 028’ which was a runaway hit. Prior to that, he had played Vijay’s brother in ‘Bagavathi’.
Anjali, who debuted opposite Jiiva in ‘Katradhu Tamizh’, acted in many insignificant films before making the viewers sit up and take note of her with an awesome performance in last year’s ‘Angaadi Theru’ directed by Vasantabalan. She is also looking with hope to the box-office performance of ‘Engeyum Eppodhum’, which incidentally is the first production venture of director A.R. Murugadoss.
It is rumoured that Jai and Anjali have come ‘so close’ to each other during the shooting of the film. Insiders, on condition of anonymity, insist that what started off as a close friendship has now taken wings as a full-fledged love affair. Both are always on touch with each other by way of mobiles, it is said.
