Ajith-Vishnuvardhan project gets a villain

Posted: 31 May 2012 07:51 AM PDT

mahesh manjrekar

As Ajith's Billa 2 closes in on release, his next with director Vishnuvardhan has come up with fresh updates. It was recorded that Tollywood heroes Nagarjuna and Ravi Teja have been approached, to meet a wider Telugu audience, though confirmations are yet to arrive. Neverthless, Bollywood actor Mahesh Manjrekar did announce his participation for the forthcoming.

Produced by AM Rathnam the film has Ajith, Arya, Nayanthara and Taapsee Pannu playing the lead cast. Mahesh Manjrekar  plays the villain having given superb performances in Oscar winning Slumdog Millionaire and Salman Khan's hit Bodyguard earlier. He says, "Thankfully, there were no date problems. I will be joining the film’s crew in August."  Ajith and Vishnuvardhan are joined by music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja for the action thriller. The film was to set rolling today May 31st, but things have been delayed further. Latest is the unit will start shoots from June 2nd in Mumbai. The first schedule will be 20 day long and have Ajith and his tattoo lady Nayantara, facing the cameras. Have we got any Mahesh Manjrekar fans here?

Bhavana steps in for Nayanthara

Posted: 31 May 2012 07:51 AM PDT

Bhavana Nayan

Kollywood's sexy damsel Nayanthara is making a promising comeback to the industry. She has received some tempting offers from Tollywood too, but it's Ajith's Untitled Vishnuvardhan Project that's holding highest priority for Nayan these days.

Director Shashank's debut venture titled 'Bachchan' was to have Nayan play the lead role. The actress however gave a cold shoulder for the project saying, her dates clashed with another important schedule. Says Shashank, "The role has a lot of importance in the film and we thought Nayanthara would be the right option. We did approach her but she denied the offer as her Ajith film will star soon." Being denied, the makers found an apt candidate in Bhavana, who has agreed to take up the film. Bhavana was in news recently for getting an offer from Bollywood and denying it, on being informed she had serial kisser Emraan Hashmi play opposite lead. She had no qualms in taking up the Tollywood offer starring Sudeep, with whom she delivered the hit Vishnuvardhana offering.  Directed by debutant Shashank, 'Bachchan' stars Sudeep and Bhavana in lead and has Parul and Deepa Sannidhi in key roles.Well Anushka Shetty won’t have been a bad choice either, right?

Iniya’s role in Ammavin Kaipesi

Posted: 31 May 2012 07:51 AM PDT

Iniya

Iniya plays a college girl in her upcoming movie. Delivering back to back performances in Sargunam’s Vaagai Sooda Vaa and Arul Mozhi’s Mouna Guru, she has also signed up for a Mollywood project and one in Telugu too. Director Thangar Bachchan chose her as lead for ‘Ammavin Kaipesi’ in Tamil

" I play a girl named Selvi, studying in college in her native place. I am deeply in love with my mama played by Shanthanoo." Hero Shanthanoo has his Amali Thumali filming presently and Love in Hyderabad entering post-production, taking up Ammavin Kaipesi. The reason Iniya signed up for the movie is her liking towards director Thangar's characters. "All his movies have such real and lively characters and when I got a call from him I was thrilled, " quips the young actress. Her character in ‘Ammavin Kaipesi’ is a little silly but loved by everyone in the family. The actress feels lucky to work with veterans in the industry so early in her career. Her other project titled Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum is directed by Kollywood stalwart Bharathiraja. Music for  ’Ammavin Kaipesi’ is by Rohit Kulkarni, as the film goes  on floors June 4th in Puducherry.
