Quantum of Solace(2008)

Quantum of Solace(2008)-Tamil dubbed

Story Line:

James Bond (Daniel Craig) is driving from Lake Como to Siena, Italy with the captured Mr. White (Jesper Christensen). After evading pursuers, Bond and M (Judi Dench) interrogate White regarding his organization, Quantum. M's bodyguard, Mitchell, a double agent, attacks M, enabling White to escape; Bond chases Mitchell across Siena and kills him.
Bond and M search Mitchell's flat and discover he had a contact in Haiti. Bond heads to Haiti to investigate Mitchell's contact, Edmund Slate, and learns that Slate was sent to kill Camille Montes (Olga Kurylenko) at the behest of her lover, Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), the chairman of an ecological organization called Greene Planet. While observing her meeting with Greene, Bond learns that Greene is helping the Bolivian general Medrano (Joaquin Cosio)—who murdered Camille's family—overthrow his government in exchange for a seemingly barren piece of desert.
After rescuing Camille from Medrano, Bond follows Greene to a performance of Tosca in Austria; en route, CIA agent Gregg Beam (David Harbour) strikes a non-interference deal with Greene to maintain access to Bolivian oil, overruling the objections of Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright). Bond infiltrates Quantum's meeting at the opera, and a gunfight ensues in the adjoining restaurant. A Special Branch bodyguard of Quantum member Guy Haines, an advisor to the British Prime Minister, is killed, and M, assuming Bond is the killer, has his passports and credit cards revoked. Bond convinces his old ally René Mathis (Giancarlo Giannini) to accompany him to La Paz. They are greeted by Strawberry Fields (Gemma Arterton), an MI6 field operative from the British Consulate, who demands that Bond return to the UK on the next available flight; nonetheless, Bond soon seduces her before they attend a party Greene holds that night.
At the party, Bond rescues Camille again from Greene. Leaving, Bond and Camille are pulled over by Bolivian police working for Medrano; they had earlier attacked Mathis and put him in the trunk of Bond's car to frame him, and in the ensuing struggle Mathis is killed. Bond and Camille survey Quantum's intended land acquisition in a Douglas DC-3 plane, but are shot down by an Aermacchi SF.260 fighter and a Bell UH-1 Iroquois helicopter. They parachute out of the burning plane into a sinkhole. In the cave, Bond and Camille discover Quantum is not after oil but is damming Bolivia's supply of fresh water, normally flowing in subterranean rivers, to create a monopoly. Back in La Paz, Bond meets M and learns that Quantum murdered Fields by drowning her naked in crude oil. M orders Bond arrested for disobeying orders but he defies her and escapes.
Bond meets Leiter, who discloses Greene and Medrano will meet at an eco-hotel in the Bolivian desert to finalize the coup; warned by Leiter, he evades American special forces attempting to kill him. At the hotel, Greene and Medrano negotiate their terms. Greene then finally reveals his true plans. By gaining control of the majority of Bolivia's water supply, Greene badgers Medrano into accepting a new contract that makes Greene Planet Bolivia's sole water utility company at significantly higher rates. Bond infiltrates the hotel and executes the chief of police for betraying Mathis, and then confronts Greene. The hotel is destroyed during the battle, but Camille kills Medrano, and Bond captures Greene. After interrogating him about Quantum, Bond leaves Greene stranded in the middle of the desert with only a can of motor oil. Bond and Camille kiss before they part.
Bond goes to Kazan, Russia, where he confronts Vesper Lynd's former lover, Yusef Kabira (Simon Kassianides), who is with Corrine (Stana Katic), a Canadian agent. Yusef is a member of Quantum who seduces women with valuable connections, such as Vesper. In an act of restraint, Bond decides not to kill Yusef and allows MI6 to arrest him. Outside, M tells Bond that Greene was found in the middle of the desert dead, with motor oil in his stomach, but Bond denies knowing anything. M also reveals that Felix has been promoted and has taken Beam's place. She reinstates Bond as an agent; he tells M that he never left. As he leaves, he drops the necklace Yusef had given Vesper in the snow.

Constantine (2005 film)

Constantine (2005 film)-Tamil dubbed

Story Line:
Set in Los Angeles, California, John Constantine (Keanu Reeves) is a chain-smoking cynic who can see half-angels and half-demons in their true forms and who seeks salvation from eternal damnation in Hell for a suicide attempt in his youth by exorcising half-demons, with the aid of his sidekick Chas (Shia LaBeouf). After a recent case involving a full-fledged demon, and having been diagnosed with lung cancer, Constantine seeks an audience with the androgynous half-breed angel Gabriel (Tilda Swinton). Gabriel tells him that as he does his exorcisms to escape Hell and for his own benefit, they are vain acts that will not spare him. Departing, he encounters LAPD officer Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz), investigating the death of her twin sister Isabel, who leapt from the roof of the mental hospital she was committed to. Constantine then destroys an attacking true demon, then tries to speak with former witch-doctor turned owner of a nightclub that serves as neutral ground for half-breeds, Papa Midnite (Djimon Honsou), about this attack. He is rebuffed and dismissed, however. Constantine, with the help of his associates Beeman (Max Baker), Hennessy (Pruitt Taylor Vince), and Chas, then begins investigating the situation.
Constantine tells Angela that God and Lucifer have a standing wager for the souls of all mankind. The rule for this wager is that true angels and demons cannot manifest on Earth, but they can possess and influence humans. Afterwards, Constantine finds out Isabel was psychic, and her visions led to her institutionalization. With the help of Hennessy and Beeman, Constantine finds out that the demons are working for Mammon, Lucifer’s son, who seeks to create his own kingdom on Earth. Mammon's plan requires a powerful psychic, for which reason the half-demon Balthazar (Gavin Rossdale) locates Isabel and Angela. Angela reveals that she possessed the same gift but denied hers to the point that it became inactive. At her request, Constantine reawakens it, by leading her to a death experience (drowning her in the bathtub) so she can see demons’ and angels’ true forms.
Constantine attacks and interrogates Balthazar, who reveals that Mammon has obtained the Spear of Destiny, which has the blood of Jesus Christ encrusted on it. Angela is kidnapped to be used as the portal for Mammon’s entrance to Earth. Constantine storms Midnite’s club and after a brief scuffle, Midnite allows Constantine access to “the chair,” an old electric chair from Sing Sing Prison that had killed over 200 people. It grants Constantine visions which show him that the Spear was discovered in Mexico and that it is already in L.A. Constantine and Chas go to Isabel’s hospital, where Mammon is conducting the ritual to rise in Angela’s body. After exorcising numerous half-breed demons, the pair interrupt the ritual and attempt to exorcise Mammon from Angela, costing Chas his life at the hands of an invisible force.
Using sigils tattooed on his arms, John forces Gabriel (Tilda Swinton), to reveal itself, but Constantine is promptly subdued. Gabriel explains that it resents God’s favoritism towards humans and the forgiveness they are readily given. Gabriel believes that by bringing Hell to Earth, those who survive can become worthy of God’s love through repentance and faith. Gabriel throws Constantine from the room and begins to release Mammon. As Gabriel goes to stab Angela with the Spear and release Mammon, Constantine slits his wrists. Time stops and Lucifer (Peter Stormare), who hates Constantine enough to collect his soul personally, arrives. Constantine tells Lucifer about Mammon’s plan and Lucifer sends Mammon back to Hell to keep Mammon from conquering Earth before him. Gabriel attempts to smite Lucifer, but is relieved of its holy powers and defeated.
In return for helping Lucifer, Constantine is owed a favour, but rather than asking for an 'extension' and be restored to life, he instead asks that Isabel be allowed to go to Heaven. Lucifer happily obliges, but, as he begins to drag Constantine to Hell, Heaven appears before him; by sacrificing himself for Isabel when there was clearly nothing in it for him, Constantine has proven himself worthy to enter Heaven. Infuriated, Lucifer heals Constantine’s wounds and cures him of his cancer so that Constantine would have a second chance to 'prove that [he] truly belongs in Hell'. Constantine retrieves the Spear and departs with Angela, but not before a now-human Gabriel attempts to goad Constantine into committing murder, only for Constantine to simply respond by punching the now-fallen angel, introducing a part of humanity: physical pain. Gabriel, defeated, nevertheless delighted in Constantine's choosing "the higher path", says, "You could have shot me, John...look how well you're doing!"
Constantine then gives the Spear to Angela and instructs her to hide it where no one can find it. The final shot before the credits reveals that Constantine has switched from cigarettes to gum.
After the credits, Constantine visits Chas’ grave and sees Chas rise into Heaven as an angel.

Back to the Future Part III (1990 film)

Back to the Future Part III (1990 film)-Tamil dubbed

Story Line:

In 1955, Marty McFly discovers that his friend Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown is now trapped in the year 1885. Marty and Doc's 1955 self use the information in Doc’s 1885 letter to retrieve and repair the damaged DeLorean. As they retrieve the car, Marty spies a tombstone with Doc's name, dated six days after the letter. Learning that Doc was killed by Biff Tannen's ancestor, Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen, Marty decides to go back to 1885 to save Doc.
Marty arrives on September 2, 1885, in the middle of a U.S. Cavalry pursuit of Indians. While evading the pursuit, the car's fuel line is torn, and Marty hides the car in a cave. While walking to Hill Valley, Marty meets his Irish great-great-grandparents, Seamus and Maggie McFly. To disguise his identity, Marty adopts the name Clint Eastwood. In town, Marty runs afoul of Buford and his gang. Buford tries to hang Marty, but Doc saves him. Doc agrees to leave 1885, but with the fuel tank in the DeLorean empty and gasoline unavailable, there is no way to power the car to 88 mph. Doc devises a scheme to use a locomotive to push the DeLorean up to speed. As Doc and Marty explore the rail spur they intend to use, they spot an out-of-control horse-drawn wagon. Doc saves the passenger, Clara Clayton. The two fall in love, finding many common interests, especially the works of Jules Verne. Buford tries to kill Doc at a town festival, but Marty intervenes. Buford then goads Marty into a showdown in two days' time. Consulting the photograph of Doc's tombstone, they note that Doc's name has disappeared, but the tombstone is otherwise unchanged. Doc tells Marty that the tombstone represents the events of the future, and warns Marty that he, not Doc, may be killed by Buford.
The night before their departure, Doc confesses to Clara that he is from the future, but Clara believes it is merely an excuse to end their relationship and spurns him. Distraught, Doc returns to the town saloon to get drunk. Marty rides to the saloon and convinces Doc to leave with him. Unfortunately, Doc drinks a single shot of whiskey and passes out. Buford arrives and calls Marty out. Marty realizes his reputation is unimportant and refuses to fight. Doc revives after being force-fed the bartender's special "Wake-Up Juice" and tries fleeing with Marty, but Buford's gang captures Doc, forcing Marty to fight. Marty uses a firebox door from a stove as a bullet-proof vest, and then hits Buford in the face with it. During the fistfight that follows, Buford destroys the tombstone (which disappears from the photograph) and is arrested. With Buford no longer a threat, Marty and Doc depart to hijack the locomotive.
Clara is leaving town on the train when she overhears a salesman discussing a man he met in the saloon, despondent about his lost love. Realizing the man is Doc and that he loves her, Clara triggers the emergency brake and runs back to town. She discovers Doc's model of the time machine and rides after him. Clara boards the speeding locomotive while Doc is climbing towards the DeLorean. Doc encourages Clara to climb out to him, intending to bring her to 1985. As she climbs to Doc, the overheated locomotive boiler explodes. Clara falls off and is left hanging by her dress. Marty passes his hoverboard to Doc, who uses it to save Clara. They coast away from the train safely as the DeLorean disappears through time, while the locomotive roars over the edge of the incomplete bridge and is demolished.
Marty arrives safely on October 27, 1985, but the powerless DeLorean is destroyed when a freight train strikes it head-on. Marty returns to his home, discovering that everything has returned to the improved timeline. Marty finds Jennifer sleeping on her front porch. Later, Marty uses the lessons he learned in 1885 to avoid being goaded into a street race with Needles, avoiding a potential automobile accident. Jennifer opens the fax message she kept from 2015 and finds that the message regarding Marty being fired has been erased.
Marty takes Jennifer to the time machine wreckage. As they survey the remains, a steam-powered locomotive equipped with a flux capacitor appears, manned by Doc, Clara, and their children, Jules and Verne. Doc gives Marty the photo of the two of them by the clockworks at the 1885 festival. Jennifer inquires about the fax and asks what it means. Doc tells them it means that the future has not been written yet and that theirs is "whatever you make it, so make it a good one". After the Browns bid farewell to their friends, Doc’s train converts into a hovertrain and roars off into an unknown time.

Back to the Future Part II (1989 film)-Tamil dubbed

Story Line:

On the morning of October 26, 1985, Doc Brown arrives from the future and tells Marty McFly and his girlfriend, Jennifer Parker, that he needs their help to save their future children. As they depart in the now-flying DeLorean time machine, Biff Tannen accidentally witnesses their departure. They arrive on October 21, 2015, where Doc electronically hypnotizes Jennifer and leaves her incapacitated in an alley. Meanwhile, Doc has Marty pose as his son, Marty McFly, Jr., to refuse an offer from Biff's cybernetically-enhanced grandson, Griff Tannen, to participate in a robbery. Doc explains that the robbery will result in the arrest of Marty Jr., as well as his sister Marlene McFly for later attempting to break him out of jail and that these events would cause future acrimony for the McFly family. Marty refuses the offer, but Griff goads Marty into a fist fight. Marty escapes the fight and leads Griff and his gang on a hoverboard chase across the town square, ultimately resulting in Griff and his gang crashing through glass windows and changing future history as they are promptly arrested instead of Marty Jr. On his way back to meet Doc, Marty purchases an almanac detailing the results of major sporting events for the second half of the 20th century. Doc discovers the purchase and warns him about attempting to profit from time travel, but before Doc can adequately dispose of the almanac, they are forced to follow the police who have found Jennifer incapacitated and are taking her to her future home. Old Biff, overhearing the conversation and recalling the DeLorean from 1985, follows with the discarded book in a taxi.
Jennifer wakes up in her future home and hides while the McFly family has dinner together. She overhears that Marty's life, as well as their life together, is not what they had expected due to a car accident involving Marty. Jennifer witnesses the Marty of 2015 being goaded into a shady business deal by his friend, Needles, and immediately fired from his job, as announced by numerous faxes (one copy of which Jennifer keeps). While escaping the house, Jennifer meets her older self and they both faint. As Marty and Doc run to retrieve the younger Jennifer, Biff uses the DeLorean to travel back in time. Marty, Doc, and an unconscious Jennifer return to 1985, unaware of Biff's actions, and Jennifer is left on the porch at her home.
Marty and Doc soon discover that the 1985 to which they returned is dramatically changed. Biff has become wealthy and changed Hill Valley into a chaotic dystopia. Marty's father, George, has been murdered and his mother, Lorraine, has been forced by Biff to marry him while Doc has been committed to an insane asylum. Doc finds evidence of the sports almanac and Biff's trip to the past in the DeLorean and tells Marty he needs to learn when the younger Biff received the almanac so they can correct the timeline. Marty decides to confront Biff regarding the almanac. Biff explains that he received the book from an old man on November 12, 1955. Biff then attempts to kill Marty during which time he reveals that he killed George. However, Marty escapes with Doc and, with the new information, return to 1955.
Marty works undercover to trail the Biff of 1955 when the Biff of 2015 arrives to give him the book, but Marty is unable to retrieve it. Marty is forced, with Doc's help, to try to get the book back during the dance, being careful to avoid undoing the events that he had already corrected in his previous visit. Eventually, Biff leaves the dance as Doc and Marty follow him silently, and they take the almanac from Biff.
With the storm approaching, Marty burns the almanac and restores the timeline. However, the DeLorean is struck by lightning and disappears. A courier from Western Union arrives minutes later and gives Marty a seventy-year-old letter. It is from Doc, who has been trapped in 1885 after the lightning strike caused the DeLorean to malfunction. Marty races back into town and finds the Doc of 1955. Having sent the original Marty back to 1985 just moments ago, Doc is shocked by his friend's sudden re-appearance and faints.

Back to the Future (1985 film)

Back to the Future (1985 film)-Tamil dubbed

Story Line:

Marty McFly is a teenager living with a bleak, unambitious family in Hill Valley, California. His father, George McFly, is constantly bullied by his supervisor, Biff Tannen, and his slobbish overweight mother, Lorraine Baines McFly, has a drinking problem. On the morning of October 25, 1985, his friend, scientist Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown, calls him and asks to meet at 1:15 am the following morning at Twin Pines Mall. Marty and his band audition to perform at the school dance, but are rejected. Marty's girlfriend, Jennifer Parker, encourages him to pursue the dream of being a rock musician. At dinner that night, Lorraine recounts how she and George first fell in love when her father hit him with his car.

Marty meets Doc as planned. Doc reveals a DeLorean DMC-12 which he has modified into a time machine, powered by plutonium which generates 1.21 gigawatts of power into a device he calls the "flux capacitor." Doc also explains that the car travels to a programmed date upon reaching 88 miles per hour. However, before Doc can make a trip twenty five years into the future, the Libyan terrorists he stole the plutonium from show up and gun him down. Marty attempts to escape in the DeLorean but, in the process, reaches the speed of 88 miles per hour and is transported back to November 5, 1955, a date Dr. Emmett Brown entered as an example to Marty as the date he invented his flux capacitor.
In 1955, Marty runs into his father, George, as a teenager who is being bullied by Biff. As George is about to be hit by Lorraine's father's car, Marty pushes him out of the way and takes the impact. As a result, Lorraine becomes infatuated with Marty instead of George. Marty is disturbed by her flirtations and leaves to find Doc. Marty convinces Doc that he is from the future and asks him to help him return to 1985. Doc is aghast by the fact the time machine requires 1.21 gigawatts of power, telling Marty that the only possible source of that amount of power is a bolt of lightning. Marty remembers that lightning will strike the courthouse clocktower the following Saturday at 10:04 pm. Doc also deduces that Marty has prevented his parents from meeting. He tells Marty he must find a way to get them together or he will never exist.
Marty plans to have George appear to rescue Lorraine from Marty's overt sexual advances on the night of the school's Enchantment Under the Sea dance. However, a drunk Biff unexpectedly shows up, pulls Marty from the car, and forces himself on Lorraine. George arrives as planned to rescue Lorraine from Marty, but finds Biff instead. Biff subjugates George, but George punches Biff in the face, knocking him out. A smitten Lorraine follows George to the dance floor where they kiss for the first time, assuring Marty's existence.
Meanwhile, Marty writes Doc a letter to warn him of his murder in 1985, but Doc indignantly tears up the letter without reading it, for fear he will alter the future. The lightning strikes at 10:04 pm and successfully sends Marty back to 1985, but he is too late to prevent Doc from being shot, despite previously having set the time machine to arrive a little early in anticipation. However, Doc reveals he was wearing a bulletproof vest and had taped the letter back together.
Doc drops Marty off at home and leaves in the time machine for the future. Marty awakens the next morning to find his home and family significantly improved and happier. Lorraine is physically fit, George has become a self-confident and successful science fiction author, Marty's brother Dave is now a businessman and his sister Linda no longer has trouble finding boyfriends. Most notably, George and Lorraine now have the close relationship they never had. Biff has become an auto detailer and is now very deferential towards George. Just as Marty reunites with Jennifer, Doc arrives, insisting that they accompany him to the future to sort out a problem with their (Marty and Jennifer's) kids. With Doc at the wheel once again, Marty and Jennifer get in the updated time machine, now a flying DeLorean hovercar powered by nuclear fusion, and blast off into the future.

Live and Let Die(1973 Film)-Tamil dubbed

Story Line:
Three British (MI6) agents, including one "on loan" to the American government, are killed under mysterious circumstances within 24 hours while monitoring the operations of Dr. Kananga, the dictator of a small Caribbean island called San Monique. James Bond is sent to New York, where the first agent was killed and where Kananga is currently visiting the UN, to investigate. As soon as Bond arrives in New York, his driver is killed while taking him to meet Felix Leiter of the CIA and Bond is nearly killed in the ensuing car crash.

The driver's killer leads Bond to Mr. Big, a gangster who runs a chain of Fillet of Soul restaurants throughout the United States. It is during his confrontation with Mr. Big that Bond first meets Solitaire, a beautiful virgin tarot expert who has the uncanny ability to see both the future and remote events in the present. In disguise as Mr. Big, Kananga demands that his henchman kill Bond, who manages to escape unscathed. Bond follows Kananga back to San Monique, where he subsequently meets Rosie Carver, a CIA double agent, who is subsequently murdered on the island by Kanaga's scarecrow men after Bond suspects her of working for Kananga. Later he meets the boatman, Quarrel Jr., who takes him to Solitaire's home. Using a stacked tarot deck of only cards showing "The Lovers", Bond tricks her into thinking that seduction is in her future and then seduces her. Solitaire loses her ability to foretell the future when she loses her virginity to Bond and is forced into cooperating with Bond to bring down Kananga.
It transpires that Kananga is producing two tons of heroin and is protecting the poppy fields by exploiting locals' fear of voodoo and the occult. Through his alter ego, Mr. Big, Kananga plans to distribute the heroin free of charge at his Fillet of Soul restaurants, which will increase the number of addicts. Kananga also believes that other drug dealers, namely the Mafia, cannot compete with his giveaway, to which Kananga can later charge high prices for the heroin after he has simultaneously cultivated huge drug dependency and bankrupted his competitors. Kananga's men capture Bond and Solitaire at the New Orleans airport. Bond does not identify Mr. Big, as the latter is wearing a plastic gangster mask. Kananga rips off his mask and asks a disgusted Bond if he slept with Solitaire, using Bond to test her abilities. Kananga turns Solitaire over to Baron Samedi to be sacrificed after he discovers that her ability to read tarot cards is gone. Kananga leaves Bond with his one-armed henchman, Tee Hee Johnson, who takes Bond to a crocodile farm community in the Louisiana backwoods. Bond escapes being eaten by the crocodiles by running along the animals' backs to safety. He sets the farm on fire and steals a speedboat, engaging in a chase with Kananga's men, local sheriff J.W. Pepper (Clifton James) and the Louisiana State Police. Later, back in San Monique, Bond throws Samedi into a coffin of snakes and rescues Solitaire from the voodoo sacrifice. Bond and Solitaire escape below ground into Kananga's lair. Kananga captures them both and proceeds to lower them into a shark tank. Bond escapes and forces a shark gun pellet in Kananga's mouth, causing him to literally blow up like a balloon, float to the top of the cave, and explode. After the job is done, Felix leaves Bond and Solitaire on a train out of the country.
Tee Hee Johnson follows Bond and Solitaire onto a train and tries to kill them both, but loses his prosthetic arm in a fight with Bond and is flung out the window. A very much alive Samedi is seen perched on the front of the speeding train in which Bond and Solitaire are travelling, laughing in his voodoo outfit, before the film ends.

The Ring Two (2005 film)

The Ring Two (2005 film)-Tamil dubbed

Story Line:
Approximately six months after the events of the first movie, Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts) and her son Aidan (David Dorfman) have moved from Seattle to the quiet coastal community of Astoria, Oregon. Rachel begins a new job at the Daily Astorian, a local newspaper, working for Max Rourke (Simon Baker). Before long, there is news of a teenage homicide in town. Rachel investigates, finding the dead boy's face shows a deformed expression of horror just like the previous victims of Samara Morgan's cursed tape. Upon finding the boy's corpse, she also has a vision of Samara grabbing her and declaring "I found you." After that she goes to the police station in order to talk to the girl who witnessed the boy's death and after persuading the girl to tell her she finds out where the tape is. She takes the tape deep into the woods and burns it.
Aidan has a dream in which he comes down to the T.V. room without Rachel home, and is pulled into the screen by Samara when the videotape starts. Back at home, Aidan starts to develop hypothermia, and his body is suddenly covered with bruises. At a county fair, Aidan takes pictures of himself in the bathroom mirror, with a blurred Samara standing behind him. His behavior grows increasingly odd and distant, and whilst driving back from the fair, the car carrying Aidan and Rachel is repeatedly attacked by deer, nearly killing them. This event was apparently mysteriously foreseen by Aidan, who warned Rachel of impending danger seconds before the deer came out of nowhere. Strange occurrences within their house (including visions of Samara, a burn mark in the wall which resembles the tree from the cursed video, and seeming poltergeist activity) frighten Rachel, leading her and Aidan to flee. Rachel subsequently asks Max if he can take care of the increasingly sick Aidan at his house.
Max says that Aidan's condition merits a trip to the hospital, but Rachel, knowing that his illness is unnatural, is adamant that traditional doctors cannot help him. When Rachel attempts to give Aidan (who suddenly develops a mysterious fear of water) a warm bath at Max's, a series of paranormal events leads to Rachel seeing Aidan's body replaced by Samara. Max walks in when she attempts to drown Samara, and sees her trying to drown Aidan instead. Suspicious, he insists on taking Aidan to the hospital against her wishes, stating, "You wanted my help, now you're getting it."
Based on the bruises on Aidan's body, the hospital staff, particularly psychiatrist Dr. Emma Temple (Elizabeth Perkins), suspect child abuse on Rachel's part, because Rachel reveals she suffered from Postpartum Depression, and won't allow her to be near her son. Desperate for answers, Rachel flees the hospital and travels to Seattle to dig deeper into Samara's past. Knowing that Samara was not Richard and Anna Morgan's biological child, she tracks down Samara's birth mother, Evelyn (Sissy Spacek), who tried to drown Samara as an infant and has been living in a mental institution ever since. Meanwhile, Samara (in Aidan's body) inflicts a psychic assault on Dr. Temple, forcing Dr. Temple to commit suicide so that Samara (in Aidan's body) can escape the hospital.
Evelyn advises Rachel to "listen to her baby" when she seeks advice on how to deal with Samara. Max goes to Rachel's house to check on her, only to find Aidan watching TV alone. He attempts to surreptitiously capture Aidan on film in order to reveal Samara, as Aidan had before Samara possessed him. Aidan/Samara notices the camera. When Rachel returns home, she finds Max's car parked outside and his dead body inside with the same warped expression of Samara's other victims. Disturbed and unsure of what to do, Rachel then goes inside to face her possessed son.
Rachel tells Aidan/Samara that he should go to sleep. Aidan responds that he never sleeps. She suggests she make him something to eat. Rachel goes into the kitchen, preparing two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. On one sandwich, she puts sleeping medication, intended to make Aidan unconscious. After eating the sandwich, Aidan soon falls asleep.
Rachel fills the upstairs bathtub with water and holds an unconscious Aidan underwater. Samara's spirit leaves his body, and Rachel is then able to revive him. However, Samara attempts to come back into the house through the TV set. Rachel grabs onto Samara as she is emerging, and is pulled into Samara's well inside the world of the cursed video. Looking up, Rachel realizes that the well lid is always left open. Rachel begins climbing the side of the well. Halfway up, Samara emerges from the water below and also ascends in a very inhuman fashion. As Rachel is climbing out of the well, Samara grabs her leg. Rachel manages to shake her off and then causes a jet of water to come out of the side of the well. Samara loses her grip and falls back down the well, however, she begins climbing again at a rapid rate. Rachel climbs out of the well just as Samara cries '"Mommy!"' in a deep voice. Rachel responds angrily that she's not her mother and pushes the lid shut just as Samara is about to escape, trapping her in the well.
As Rachel wanders the monochromatic world of the cursed tape, she hears Aidan's voice and walks toward it, only to come to the cliff where Anna jumped to her death. She hears Aidan calling her name below. Determined to follow Aidan's voice, Rachel jumps off the cliff and ends up back in her living room with Aidan, where they embrace. Aidan calls Rachel '"Mommy"', and she asks him to just call her Rachel. The film ends when the camera then views the street and the sky, where a crescent moon can still be seen. The film then flickers out.
