This week purely belongs to Yuvan Shankar Raja. Just days after the songs he composed for Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Panjaa’, Vishnuvardhan’s maiden film in Telugu, was released amidst much fan fare in Hyderabad (the event was aired live by IndiaGlitz) the music composer had an audio launch in Kollywood, and that is ‘Kazhugu’, which has Vishnuvardhan’s brother Krishna in the lead.
Sony Music has released the music of ‘Kazhugu’, which is a cocktail of emotions, we must say. Some unique voices (Pushpavanam Kuppusamy, Karthik Raja, Krishnaraj etc) have crooned the lines penned by the likes of Na Muthukumar, Snehan and Eknath. Let’s take a check on the songs in here…
Many things are there between a man and a woman. And this song attempts to track a few. Yuvan’s music gives life to the ‘dynamic’ lyrics of Snehan, with the voices of Krishnaraj, Velmurugan and Sathyan adding more value. A racy folk song, ‘Aambalaikum Pombalaikum’ makes us tap our foot from the beginning till the end.
What’s inside a woman’s heart? Well, a billon dollar question which will never see an answer. Listen to this song penned by Muthukumar and crooned by Priya, which takes us to a world which is as different as the woman’s heart. Priya has expressed well the feelings of a ‘girl in love’ in this Ilayaraja kind of song. Yuvan reminds one of his dad.
The numbers that are sung by Yuvan Shankar Raja always come with a Midas touch. So has ‘Paathagathi Kannupattu…’, penned by Snehan. The song which starts on a very mild note slowly makes its impact felt in a big way. Yuvan’s voice aptly fits well into the shoes of a youth, who has a great admiration for his girl.
Whatte kuthu! Apparently an item number towards the climax, ‘Vaadi Vaadi…’ sung by Pushapavanam Kuppusamy, the big daddy of folk songs, in the company of Suvi Suresh and Anita is here to stay. Yuvan’s electrifying tune and energizing beats do enough magic, with the rest being taken care of by the singers.
Another ‘Aathadi Manasudhan…’ is here, this time by Karthik Raja. This one is the male version of the feelings expressed by the female voice a couple of songs above. The elder brother of Yuvan marks his presence as a good singer too.
The music of ‘Kazhugu’ flies high, perhaps putting the listener on cloud nine.

Surya to appear in court on December 19th


Actor Surya has come under the cloud for a different reason all together. The 7aam Arivu hero who was present at one of the meetings conducted by SIFAA (South Indian Film Artistes Association) in Chennai supposedly crossed the limits, as claimed by one M Rozario. The said Rozario belongs to Ooty and works as a freelance journalist by profession.



He was present during the meeting held on October 7th, 2009, along with the big shots from the Kollywood industry including Sarath Kumar (president of South India Film Artistes Association),Surya, Vijaykumar, Sathyaraj , Sripriya , Cheran and many others. Rozario claims that the above mentioned people came down heavily on journalists and publicly defamed their families without any reason. The meeting itself was held to express disapproval regarding one of the slanderous articles that was doing its rounds in the press, causing heavy damage to the image of the cine folks. Soon after the meeting was over Rozario filed a case to take action, resulting in a Magistrate Court in Ooty asking the actors to appear for a hearing on December 19th.

Atharva's with Bala Movie titled as Eriyum Thanal

We have earlier reported that young hero Atharva's new film in the direction of Bala is now titled as Eriyum Thanal.The title was announced and it was taken inspiration from the Malayalam novel.

Bala felt that the same title is apt for the film in tamil also.Eriyum Thanal movie deals all with how a couple faces struggles and puts the efforts to grow their son.Atharva is essayed for the role of son.

Bala has roped in GV Prakash as music director for the first time in his directional film Eriyum Thanal. The other deatails of cast & crew of the film yet to be materialised.Eriyum Thanal shooting will begin from the month of December and schedule to release for 2012 summer.

Tamil Movie Vettai is in final stages of shooting

Madhavan,Aarya in the lead roles upcoming movie Vettai has wrapped up its shooting except couple of songs in the film.A schedule of song shooting has began on November 23rd in Dubai.With this songs shoot the movie team will move for further post-production works.

Linguswamy directing Vettai audio launch is to be held in the second week of December.Yuvan Shankar Raja has rendered tunes for the film.Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul are sharing screen space along the side of Madhavan and Aarya in the film.

Yuvan Shankar Raja tunes to be highlight of the film while cinematography by Nirav Shah and editing by Anthony Gonsalves.Lingusamy and Subash Chandra Bose are jointly producing Vettai movie under Tirupathi Brothers Studio.

Selva Said ‘Aayirathil Oruvan-2′ With Dhanush


Selvaraghavan has cast out another magic spell about his fourthcoming project Aayirathil Oruvan part 2. In part 1 Karthi, R Parthiban, Reema Sen and Andrea Jeremiah are seen playing lead roles.
The film ended with Karthi able to escape and save the Chola prince(small boy). The seed of the Chola dynasty is brought back to India by the messenger as prophesied.

Now the Character of the Chola prince will be portrayed by Dhanush it seems. Eventually it was Dhanush who was chosen for the title role but then later it moved over to Karthi. Now it seems Dhanush will return back in Part 2.
Aayirathil Oruvan part 2 will be produced by their father Kasthuri Raja and the film will be an adventure says Selva. If Dhanush could give me dates for 6 solid months, then i would start the project with him he adds.

Rajinikanth the Ambassador of Tamilnadu


Hindu Makkal Katchi – the pro-Hindutva political party of Tamil Nadu (TN) – has urged superstar Rajinikanth to become the brand ambassador of the state. Kannan, the state organising secretary of HMK says, “Superstar Rajinikanth has got millions of fans globally. Though he was born in Karnataka, Rajini became an iconic figure only through Tamil films.

The actor has in the past thrown his weight behind the cause of Sri Lankan Tamils and even the inter-linking of rivers. Hence we request Rajinikanth to come forward and serve the state that has given him so much of name, fame and wealth.”
Meanwhile, sources close to the party inform that soon HMK will be making a representation to the Jayalalithaa government to urge Rajinikanth to become TN’s brand ambassador. Whether he takes up the offer or not, only time will tell.

Sharad Pawar slapped by youth in Delhi
New Delhi: In yet another instance of breach of security of VVIPs, Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar on Thursday was slapped by a youth. 


The man, indentified as Harvinder Singh, attacked the Nationalist Congress Party chief when he was speaking to reporters after a function at the NDMC Centre in the heart of the capital. 


Harvinder Singh, who is from Rohini, was present in the audience during the function organised by PSU company IFFCO, slapped Pawar on his face and tried to punch him. 


Harvinder Singh is a serial offender. He had just few days back attacked former telecom minister Sukhram who was sentenced to prison in a corruption case. He was let off then as he is believed to be mentally deranged. 


Immediately after he slapped Pawar, he was cornered by security persons and others present there but he took out a small knife from his pocket and started screaming, "I will kill, everybody is a thief.” 


Singh is believed to be angry with the minister’s inability to tame rising inflation and check the spiralling prices of essential commodities. 
He said that he is a supporter of Anna Hazare’s movement but he doesn’t believe in the Gandhian ways of the Lokpal crusader. 


However, the episode had raised serious questions about the security cover provided to cabinet minister. 


Harvinder was taken away by the police to Barakhamba Road police station for interrogation. Delhi police booked him under Section 323 (Causing hurt), 353 (Attack on public servant) and 506 (Criminal intimidation). 


Later speaking to a new channel, Pawar played down the episode. He said that he had thought that he was pushed by someone amid the jostle by reporters and dismissed it. 


NCP spokesperson DP Tripathi while condemning the incident said that the media should exercise restraint while covering such incidents. 


Leaders from across the political spectrum have condemned the incident. 


Congress, in the meanwhile, said the issue must be probed. Reacting to the incident, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh said that incidents like this should not be given too much importance. 


The BJP also condemned the incident, however, party leader SS Alhulwalia said in the Rajy Sabha, “The issue of price rise has become so grave today that now a youth has slapped the agriculture minister of the country!” 


Congress leader Rashid Alvi slammed Alhuwalia’s statement and criticised him for trying to term an act of violence as people’s anger.
Pawar composed himself and walked out with his posse of security.

Jeremy Renner Spills Some Details For THE BOURNE LEGACY!

On December 15, Jeremy Renner can next be seen in MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE GHOST PROTOCOL. Next year, he is part of the superheroes ensemble in THE AVENGERS, due May 1. Another movie worth paying attention for is his acting role in Tony Gilroy's THE BOURNE LEGACY. Taking over the franchise from Matt Damon who immortalized the Jason Bourne role in the first three BOURNE series, Renner has recently revealed some juicy details regarding about THE BOURNE LEGACY. Here's what he had to say below.

My character is called Aaron Cross. but he ends up having a bunch of different names. For fans of the franchise, [The Bourne Legacy] has that same ticking clock, but it's a new program and new characters.

As for the possible involvement of the Treadstone program related to the Jason Bourne books and previous series, Renner added:

Yeah, it's that same deal, it's just a new set of agents with a different leash. It's the same tempo and pace but more expansive and bigger. The differences are pretty vast but you'll know it's a Bourne movie.

Rajinikanth's Thalapathy to be remade in Hindi

Rajinikanth, Mammotty starring 1991's multi-starrer blockbuster film Thalapathy is all set to remake in Hindi soon.

One of the bollywood producer Bharath Shah has grabbed the remake rights of Thalapathy in Hindi.Earlier the produced the remake film of Mani Ratnam, Madhavan's Alaipuyuthey in bollywood as Saathiya with Vivek Oberoi, Rani Mukherjee in the lead.Thalapathy is inspired from the epic Mahabharata and is based in the Karna and Dhuryodhana to an extent.

Santhosh Sivan debuted as cinematographer with Thalapathy and Ilayaraja's tunes and BGM tunred out as biggest hits of those times.Thalapathy hindi version will be directed by Puja Jatinder Singh and the regular shooting of the film will commence from early of 2012.

Vijay & AR Murugadoss's Movie titled as Thuppaki

Ilayathalapathy Vijay's forthcoming new movie in the direction of AR Murugadoss has been titled as Thuppaki. Director AR Murugadoss has informed the title of the film to the press.

Vijay-AR Murugadoss's Thuppaki film will begin its shooting from 23rd November and the movie is being made with a budget of 65 crores.Kajal Agarwal is roped in as Vijaya's love interest in the film while Harris Jayaraj is rendering tunes and Santhosh Sivan is handling the camera.

AR Murugadoss is in plans to shoot Vijay's Thuppaki movie in the suburbs of Mumbai, Thiruchendur and Chennai. Few sources of kollywood reveals that Vijay plays a Mumbai Dada role which will be similar to Kamal's role in the super hit Nayagan.Vijay's father S.A.Chandrasekaran is producing Thupakki movie.

Kishore as Veerappan in Vanayudham


Actor Kishore is also shooting for Vanayudham, a biopic on sandalwood smuggler Veerappan.
Directed by A M R Ramesh, the film is expected to be a huge break for Kishore.

‘I have been intrigued by Veerappan’s persona. I have been reading a lot about him, too. The movie will also be made in Kannada titled Attahasa’, says Kishore.
On the challenges playing the role, he says, ‘every role is demanding. Every character is tough to portray. For this role, I had to lose five kgs.
The movie has a huge star cast and Kishore is confident that it would get me more laurels.

MTV Premiered Dhanush’s Why This Kolaveri Di


The musical rage “Why this Kolaveri di” was premiered today (Nov 24) morning on the popular national music channel MTV.
It will be played 15 to 20 times for the next three days on the channel.

Truly, Kolaveri di the Tanglish song rendered by actor-lyricist-singer Dhanush has gone international as most of the Hindi FM channels and select Radio stations across the world have started playing it. No other Tamil song has rocked so big worldwide.
Ashok Parwani of Sony Music said: “ Kolaveri di has become a phenomenon a national rage. Getting two million hits on You Tube is fantastic, though our aim is to reach 15 million.”
Big B tweeted, “Just heard ‘Kolaveri di’ after much talk on it … its so original and catchy ..congrats Dhanush and Aishwarya (Rajini’s daughter) .. love.”

Rajini watches Mayakkam Enna


Superstar Rajinikanth watched a preview of his son-in-law Dhanush’s Mayakkam Enna on Wednesday (Nov 23) evening.

Normally the film’s director Selvaraghavan never holds any preview shows, but made an exception for the superstar.
The show was held exclusively for the Rajinikanth family at the Real Images preview theatre.
As per sources, after the screening, Rajinikanth is said to have hugged Dhanush and said that it will be another feather on his cap.
The superstar was very impressed by Dhanush’s performance.
Later he called up director Selvaraghavan who was busy with pre-release work of the film and spoke to him at length about the film and its making.

‘Mayakkam Enna’ brings back to us the hit brother combo - director Selvaraghavan and National Award winning Dhanush. All their earlier offerings are blockbusters belonging to various genres and the expectations on this film are skyrocketing as well.
‘Mayakkam Enna’ stars Dhanush and Richa Gangopadhyay in the lead roles whereas renowned photographer Sundar Ramu who is foraying into Tamil cinema through this film, plays the second lead and Dhanush’s pal.
Music is composed by GV Prakash and four out of five tracks and the theme music have become chartbusters. The colloquial lyrics of ‘Kadhal En Kadhal…’ and ‘Oda Oda Dhooram…’ have set a new fad in the industry.
Selvaraghavan initially went on-board with Dhanush and Andrea in the lead roles with the title ‘Irandam Ulagam’, and when Andrea walked out of the project, Richa was roped in and the title was changed to ‘Mayakkam Enna’. Selva initially reported that the film’s script had undergone minor changes; however, it later came to light that the two films are entirely different projects and Selva will get on-board his ‘Irandam Ulagam’ post ME.
‘Mayakkam Enna’ is said to showcase Dhanush in four different stages of his life and sources close to the unit vouch that the star has pulled out great performance. He plays a photographer in this film and while many considered the film to be a feel good entertainer, the teaser had changed it all as they showcase a conflict of emotions between Dhanush and Richa.
Richa’s character is touted to be a bold role, on the lines of Sonia Aggarwal’s characters in ‘Kadhal Koden’ and ’7G Rainbow Colony’. Selva has always paid equal importance to the female characters in his films and ‘Mayakkam Enna’ will be no exception.
The film will see light of the day this November.

With just one day left for the release of Mayakkam Enna, actor Dhanush has been heaped laurels by his brother and director Selvaraghavan.

Agni Natchathiram to be remade


Mani Ratnam’s Agni Natchathiram will be remade in Hindi soon. Ajay Devgn has evinced interest in this remake and has decided to produce the venture apart from playing the lead role.
Rohit Shetty, who gave the smash hit Singham, which again was a remake of the Suriya starrer Singam, will direct Agni Natchathiram in Hindi. It is worth mentioning here that Rohit and Ajay teamed up for Singham and came out with a box office hit.
The remake rights of Agni Natchatiram are with Vijay, CEO of VG Entertainment Pvt Ltd, says a trade source.

Amitabh Bachchan smitten by Dhanush’s ‘Kolaveri Di’


Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is the latest celebrity to be smitten by the foot-tapping music and the crazy lyrics of ‘Kolaveri Di’, which has been sung and penned by Tamil movie star Dhanush. Big B congratulated the Tamil actor on the song, which is from the upcoming Tamil movie 3.

Amitabh Bachchan, who is excited over his new-born granddaughter, took to his Twitter account to congratulate Dhanush. Big B tweeted, “Just heard ‘Kolaveri di’ after much talk on it … its so original and catchy ..congrats Dhanush and Aishwarya (Rajini’s daughter) .. love.”

Kalaipuli Dhanu to produce next Vijay-A.R.Murugadoss’s ?

A.R.Murugadoss’s next movie with Vijay will go on floors from this month end but even before it goes on floors , the producer of the movie has been changed. Initially, Vijay’s father , S.A.Chandrasekar was about to produce the movie but now it looks like Kalaipuli S Dhanu is all set to produce this movie . A.R.Murugadoss was reportedly asking for a huge renuremation which made Kalaipuli S Dhanu to take over this project . The movie will be set in the backdrop of Mumbai.  this leaves us to the question of what happened to the project that Vijay signed for  Kalaipuli S Dhanu already that was about to be directed by Seeman. Our sources reveals that the project has been shelved and it is not sure whether the project will be revived in future .

Osthi postponed aging to December 8


Osthi which was slated for December 2nd has been pushed to December 8 due to technical reworks. The movie will have Simbhu donning a cop role for the first time . It is worth mentioning that Simbhu had taken special care to workout his physique to fit the role.
Richa Gangopahdyay who will be seen in Dhanush’s Mayakkam Enna will play Simbhu’s love interest in Osthe.It is reported that the Simbhu and Richa Gangopadhyay have excelled in their character that will reprise the roles done by Salman and Sonakshi Sinha in the original version , Dabaang . The songs are slowly topping the charts with native sounds.Simhu fans are disappointed that the movie has been postponed nearly by a week. Since Osthi has been pushed for December 8 , Sasikumar’s Poraali will see a solo release on December 1st.
