Steven Spielberg signs up AR Rahman for new Hollywood movie
Isai Puyal AR Rahman is back, and yeah he’s found a new friend in Steven Spielberg this time. The reigning king of Indian music is all set with his next Hollywood flick titled Welcome to People (WTP) .The all new WTP will be directed by Alex Kurtzman with Steven Spielberg producing it under his banner Dreamworks.The composer confirmed the news saying, “Yes, I have just finished the soundtrack for WTP. It was great to work with Kurtzman, who is a top screenwriter in Hollywood, and have Spielberg backing it.” It is learnt that Welcome to Peoplewill be different from Rahman’s earlier Hollywood projects in Couples Retreat and Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours. “It’s more emotional and dramatized and will release early next year”, saidRahman. The plot revolves around a struggling young man who is entrusted with cash worth $1,50,000 after his record-producer father’s death. The cash has to be delivered to his 30 year old sister whom the protagonist has never has never met in his life.
Amitabh Bachchan to star in Ko remake?
We have reported earlier that KV Anand’s political-thriller Ko was being remade in the Bollywood and Prakash Jha would helm the project. The latest to hear is that Amitabh Bachchan will be doing a pivotal role in the forthcoming Hindi movie.Rumours say that Prakash Jha has zeroed in on Amitabh Bachchan. It is also noted that the Bollywood superstar played key roles in the filmmaker’s earlier movies like Raajneeti and Aarakshan. The actor is expected to reprise the role of a politician played by Prakash Raj in the original.
Meanwhile, Prakash Jha has reportedly finalized Ranbir Kapoor to play the male lead, which was enacted by Jeeva in Ko. The forthcoming Hindi movie has been tentatively titled Satyagraha.

Surya ‘s Maatran nears completion
K V Anand and Surya have almost completed the shooting of the much-awaited movie Maatran. The mega-budget venture was shot in various locales abroad. Interestingly Anand preferred to do some important scenes in Russia, where many have not ventured before from Tamil cinema.The movie has Kajal Agarwal playing Surya’s ladylove and music is by Harris Jeyaraj. Sources say with the talkie portions almost completed, a couple of songs needs to be canned. Soon we would venture to start post production’.
Having given a hit in Ayan already, expectations are high on Anand-Surya combo.

Selvaraghavan’s much expected and awaited project is Irandam Ulagam. Now it’s heard that the shooting of Irandam Ulagam has started two days back in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad.The film is produced by PVP, who has landed their mark through their first venture Rajapattai. The film didn’t live upto expectations, so now they have kept their full hope on Selva’s Irandam Ulagam for which they are roping in the best for the cast and crew.
Recently Harris Jeyaraj joined the team and this will be Selvaraghavan’s first venture with him and it’s sure to rock the audience adds sources.

News is rife in Kollywood circles that Nayanthara is playing an important role in Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming film inspired from the epic Ramayana.This piece of news is interesting as recently she impressed everyone by playing Sita, wife of Lord Ram in Bapu directed mythology Sri Ramarajyam.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay is having a new look in his AR Murgadoss directed Thuppakki.The film is now being shot on the streets of Mumbai, by ace cinematographer Santosh Sivan.

Vijay is up early in the morning for the shoot which goes on till late in the evening. They are shooting on actual locations, where shooting has to be completed on time, as crowd control gets out of hand.
Vijay has been shooting continuously on these locations for the last two weeks.
The only break the actor took was to fly to Coimbatore after a hectic morning shoot to attend Nanban audio launch in the evening.
Vijay made it a point to return back to Mumbai, by the first available flight, after the audio launch.
David Vikrams New Bollywood Movie
Kollywood is abuzz with Vikram’s Saamy going under the Bollywood remake grinder pretty soon. It’s heard that the Hindi version of Saamy expected to take of by March end will be directed by KS Ravikumar, who expects to be wrap up Rajini’s Kochadaiyaan shoots by then. The Bollywood remake will have popular actor Sanjay Dutt donning the lead with the heroine not yet confirmed.
Now if Vikram fans are disheartened with that replacement, don’t worry our hero has other plans going for him. News is that the actor will star in an all new Bollywood affair in a movie titled David.The flick David will be directed by Bejoy Nambiar who marked his debut with the critically acclaimed Shaitan . Vikram’s David will keep in trend with the gangsta-comedy theme, as the actor confirmed the news saying, “My next will be with Bejoy Nambiar for a Bollywood movie. I will reveal all details once things are finalized but assuredly the shooting will kick of in 2012.” The Kollywood star already has a period flick Karikalan and another release in Thaandavam for the waiting. Adding to that is David for the New Year.
