Andrea dubs for Ileana’s character in Nanban

Not often girls with a pretty face possess an hour-glass figure; it’s even more a rarity that a girl with a pretty face and a figure-to-die-for owns a beautiful voice. The case of Andrea Jermaiah is, therefore, a unique one. Andrea, who debuted in films with Gautham Menon’s Pachchaikili Muthucharam, is also a much-in-demand playback singer who has sung many hit songs including t including the Idhuvarai… number from number from Venkatprabhu’s Goa.

She now debuts as a dubbing artiste with director Shankar’s upcoming film Nanban. Andrea dubs for the film’s heroine Ileana who makes a comeback in Tamil films many years after debuting as an actress with Kedi. Ileana is paired opposite Vijay in the film, a remake of the Hindi hit film 3 Idiots, which also co-stars stars like Jiiva, Srikanth, Anuya, Sathyaraj and SJ Suriyah.
The curvaceous Ileana reprises the role essayed by Bollywood’s Kareena Kapoor in the original version. Shankar, who had been looking for the ‘right voice’ to dub for Ileana’s character in the film, zeroed in on Andrea’s voice. Though Andrea is busy with her acting and singing careers, she couldn’t say ‘no’ to Shankar’s offer to dub for Ileana in his upcoming film.
“I agreed to dub for Ileana’s character in Nanban mainly because it’s a project by a director of Shankar’s caliber. I feel that dubbing for an artiste who plays the lead role in his film is almost like acting in his film under his direction,” says a proud Andrea.
Who knows, Shankar might rope in Andrea as the heroine in his next film itself!

Trisha doesnt like action-heroine roles

Trisha is basking in the glory of the success of her latest film Mankatha opposite Ajith. The multi-starrer film, which was Trisha’s 40th film in her career, was also the landmark 50th film for Ajith. The film, which had many stars including Arjun, Andrea, Anjali, Lakshmi Rai and Bollywood’s Kainaat Arora besides Ajith and Trisha, was directed by Venkatprabhu and had music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Trisha says that her physique would never allow her to take on those action-heroine roles like Vijayashanti. “I’m very happy with what I have been doing for the past few years. It’s a fact that my body and the way it has been built won’t allow me to take on action-based roles. I’m quite content in playing the romantic heroine roles for now.
Presently in the final stage of shooting of her upcoming Telugu flick titled Bodyguard (remake of the Tamil hit Kaavalan), Trisha has also committed herself to doing Samaran in Tamil opposite Vishal. This would be the first time Vishal and Trisha, who are best off-screen buddies, are paired opposite each other in a film.
She is also having ‘Ganga’, a Telugu film, in her kitty and is also said to be seriously thinking of making another attempt at clicking in Bollywood with her second Hindi film. Readers might recall that her debut Hindi film titled Khatta Meetha opposite Akshay Kumar nose-dived at the box-office last year.

Sameeras parents against her desire

Some time back, actress Sameera Reddy had expressed her long-held desire to own a sprawling house in Chennai’s ECR Road, one of the most-loved places in the city. It now appears that her dream of owning a house in Chennai would remain a mere dream as the idea has so far not met with the approval of her parents.

Sexy Sameera, who is a busy-bee in Hindi films with quite a few projects on hand, had her Vedi opposite Vishal releasing a few weeks back. The actress hasn’t had any super-duper hit in Tamil except for her debut film Vaaranam Aayiram opposite Suriya. Despite the publicity glitz indulged in by Sun Network whose Sun Pictures distributed Vedi, the film has only managed a lukewarm response from the members of the public.

As such, Sameera is hoping her upcoming Vettai opposite Madhavan and directed by Lingusamy would be the super-hit she had been looking for a while now. The film has another pair in Aarya and Amala Paul. In her free time, she is said to be assisting her favourite director Gautham Vasudev Menon in the making of Needhanae En Ponvasantham starring Jiiva and Samantha in lead roles.

Talking about her shattered dream vis-à-vis owning a house in Chennai, Sam sas, “My parents are already upset with me that I’ve been spending many number of days in a month in Chennai to fulfill my shooting commitments. As we already own a house in Mumbai, my parents are not likely to approve my idea of purchasing a house in Chennai,” says Sameera.

Won’t it be Chennai’s loss to miss out in having a beautiful girl as its permanent resident?
