'Vellore Mavattam' to release on silver screen from Oct 5

 

It will be raining films this Pooja season. With big production houses making mild alterations in the release dates of their films, the long Pooja weekend, in the state, is going to be drenched in fresh releases churning out of the Tamil film industry.

Actor Nandha's upcoming film 'Vellore Mavattam,' which sees him as a solo hero is all set to hit silver screens across the state on October 5. Nandha, in this film, will be a cop with Poorna playing his love interest. Good offers have been coming Nandha's way of late. He was seen in the recently released Jiiva starrer 'Vandhaan Vendraan.'

Scripted and directed by RNR Manohar, the film will showcase the baddies of 'Vellore Mavattam' as the title suggests, and will see a cop all set to hunt them down. The film will be produced by AGS Entertainment.

'Vellore Mavattam' will see Nandha in a full-fledged action role. The trailer of the film was out recently, has been received well and has created the required anticipation among the film-loving crowd. Many claim the teaser looks quite similar to the Suriya-Jyothika starrer 'Khakka Khakka.' While there is no doubt about the acting prowess of Nandha, it remains to be seen if this film will do to Nandha, what 'Khakka Khakka' did to Suriya's career.

Nandha - a son of a poor farmer in Vellore Maavattam

 

Director R N R Manoharan who has directed the hit film Masilamani which had Nakul and Sunaina in the lead role is now directing a film titled Vellore Maavattam.

Nandha and Poorna are in the lead roles. Apart from them Santhanam, directors Alagam Perumal and G M Kumar are donning important roles in this film.

The director while speaking about this film said, "A son of a poor farmer fulfils the desire of his father by becoming an IPS officer.

He gets the posting in Vellore Maavattam. The problems he encounters and how he solves it in a spur of a moment is narrated in a realistic way in this film. Don’t think that there will be action oriented and punch dialogues since this is a police story.

This film will be totally different film from other police stories. We had collected infinitesimal details about the department from the IPS Academy at Hyderabad. The heroine Poorna will not just be there to act in dance sequences but she will be heroine of the story.

Santhanam who is donning the role of a comedy police man will be a great strength to this film. All the songs of Vellore Maavattam composed by Sundar C Babu have already become popular. This film will be a turning point for Nandha. Everybody who sees this film will say that this is the real police story."
