'Vizhithidu Nenje...' says Rahman for Dhanush

That A R Rahman is scoring music for a Dhanush starrer ('Mariyaan') for the first time is known to many. The unknown thing is that the Oscar winner, besides composing the tunes, has also lent his voice.

"Rahman has crooned the number 'Vizhithidu Nenje...' and it has come very good. The maestro's voice has done the much needed magic to the song," say sources in the know.

They add: "The number was recently shot on the lead pair- Dhanush and Parvathy- and the visuals were extraordinary. Rahman's composition and the way the song has been canned will make it stand out from the list."

Produced by Aascar Ravichandran, 'Mariyaan' is directed by Bharat Bala, who shares a close rapport with Rahman. In fact, it was this duo (Rahman and Bharat Bala) who gave us 'Vandemataram' in 1997.

Director Shankar Appreciates Naan Ee

Before the release of Naan Ee, there were a lot of expectations on this new genre film directed by SS Rajamouli. And after its release, it is not just the movie buffs but the celebrities are also raving about the film. Ace director Shankar had seen Naan Ee at the Devi Cineplex on July 8th, 2012, and has recorded at the Visitor’s Book there that it is a ‘Super Film.’

Though Naan Ee doesn’t boast of a big star cast, the film is appreciated by one and all for director SS Rajamouli’s unique idea, Sudeep’s extraordinary performance, and Maragadhamani’s background score.

The film stars Nani, Samantha, Sudeep and Santhanam in the lead roles.

Actor Ajith gave me a career, says AR Murugadoss

Recently AR Murugadoss opened up about how Ajith played a major part in his life. With AR Murugadoss’ appearance, he says the people in the north even find it difficult to accept that he is a director, that too a successful one. “Just imagine how I would have been 10 years ago. But Ajith didn’t say no to me. We did Dheena then, now I am here with my seventh film to come soon. He is the reason for what I’m now,” said the 7aam Arivu director.
The director has worked with both Ajith and Vijay now. About Vijay he said, “It took me 6 films to work with Vijay. To me he is a very good friend. He never talks anything other than films to others. But with me, he doesn’t hesitate speaking personally. Actually, I’m enjoying his company.”

Actress Parvathy Omanakuttan role in billa 2

Parvathy Omanakuttan is keeping her fingers crossed, even as her debut Tamil flick ‘Billa 2′ is getting ready to hit the screens. “It is a memorable role and I must thank Ajith and director Chakri Toleti for their cooperation,” she says.
The beauty queen turned actress plays performance oriented role in this prequel to ‘Billa’. “I play Jasmine, who is the love interest of Billa. I am part of many romantic scenes and of course, some action scenes,” she says.
Heaping praises on Ajith, she says, “He never goes to the caravan after the shot is over. He will ensure that everyone on the sets feel comfortable. He would personally prepare tea and serve it to all. Such a down to earth person he is.”

‘Saguni’ audio set break records

It was on Saturday that the audio of ‘Saguni’ was launched at a grand function in Chennai. In the next 24 hours, the ‘Kanda Karavadai…’ song was downloaded 75000 times, making a record of sorts. And music composer G V Prakash Kumar is so thrilled about it.
Sung by Shankar Mahadevan, the peppy number has some dialogues in between, which are mouthed by none other than Karthi Sivakumar, the protagonist of this political thriller loaded with humor.
“That is really great. 75,000 downloads in a single day is not an easy thing,” says Prakash, adding: “We released two singles from the movie on Karthi’s birthday. They got 2.5 lakh downloads in seven days.”
This is the second time Prakash has worked for a Karthi starrer, with the first time being Selvaraghavan’s ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’. ‘Saguni’, directed by newcomer Shankar Dayal, has Pranitha as the leading lady. K E Gnanavelraja of Studio Green is the producer.
