Battle Begins Dhanush v/s STR – Twitter

The old rivalry between Dhanush and STR has surfaced again, this time on Twitter.

Bollywood actors indulging in twitter battleshave been happening at regular intervals. Recently Farah Khan’s husband and filmmaker Sirish Kundar had made sarcastic digs at Shah Rukh Khan through his Twitter account, which led to a showdown between them at a Mumbai hotel.

Early today morning Dhanush`s video `Sachin Anthem` for Sachin Tendulkar made by the energy drink Boost which was premiered on Youtube yesterday (Feb 9) was removed for copyright infringement.
Dhanush had tweeted at that time : “Some people smile at other people’s misery. I smile right back at them for not knowing the purpose of being a human being. It’s called love. God bless.”

A few hours later the video was back on Youtube after Dhanush took legal steps torestore it.

Meanwhile Simbu aka STR who was in US, still busy with his ‘Love Anthem’ , tweeted : “Copy Adikaradhula Chinaava Vida Bayangarama Irrukangaley !!!” Later Dhanush tweeted : “I did the song for free brother. Boost paid for the production of the audio andvideo, and thanks for all your prayers. God bless.”

Suddenly STR went philosiphical by tweeting – ” Actually none of us in this world have an enemy ! Success introduces you to the world, but defeat introduces the world to you !!!”

Vikram takes on Surya

Two of thesuperstars of Tamil film industry are ready to clash on small-screen. The duo, who was seen together in award winning film Pithamagan, will be in the war of TRPs in the coming months. Yes, Vikram and Surya, the two actors known for varieties, will be hosting television game shows soon.

It is well-known that Surya is making his small-screen debut with Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi, the Tamil version of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Now, a popular channel has approached Vikram to host a similar kind of game show, which tests participant’s general knowledge.

It is reported that Vikram, who is fully busy with his films, is keen to take up the project but the actor is not sure whether he can allot the required number of dates for the show and devote himself for the TV program.

ilayathalapathy vijay meets his fans

Vijay was present at a special screening of Nanban held at Thanga Regal theatre in Madurai much to the joy of his fans. He distributed gifts and a feast was prepared for a group of mentally challenged people and served. Vijay also addressed his fans and shared his Nanban experiences.

Sathyaraj, Shankar, Srikanth, Jiiva and Sathyan are all wonderful people and it was great to work with them, Vijay said. He said that it was a dream come true for him to work with Sathyaraj.The actor also dropped in at Apsara theatre in Virudhunagar. Because of the strike, shooting has been stalled and Vijay is using the time off to connect with his dear fans.

Dhanush reasons out ’3′s delay

’3′ is one film that is eagerly looked forward to by those throughout the country. The film was wrapped quite some time back and hasn’t yet hit the screens. Reasoning out the delay, Dhanush expressed that ’3′ will hit the screens by March end or will be an April release and expressed that the film is delaying as it’s a national release, remember its releasing simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi?

The film is a romantic musical that sees Dhanush and Shruti Haasan as lovers in three stages of life. Music is by Anirudh and the film is directed by Aishwarya Dhanush. Dhanush is promoting this film aggressively with innovative marketing strategies as it’s his pet project.

Speaking on the Sachin Anthem, he says, “The song is in English cause I wanted people from all parts of India to understand it since it’s about Sachin. The song was not made for any purpose other than my love for Sachin and I did whatever I know in it, and that’s not much”, he signs off.

Ileana D'Cuz in trouble again!

Ileana D'Cuz is probably the only one actress among the current A-listers, who has been time and again landing in controversies. The Goan beauty has been now dragged into troubled waters by producer Mohan Natarajan for her unprofessional behaviour.

The producer has filed a complaint against Ileana at Producers' Council alleging that she has not refunded the advance amount of Rs 40 lakhs, which she took to act in his last year film Deiva Thirumagal. He claims that the actress signed to act in his movie but as the plans in the crew changed, the Nanban girl could not act. She was later replaced by Anushka Shetty.

He further adds that Ileana has been refusing to pay his advance amount complaining that they wasted her dates. Mohan Nataranjan concludes that Ileana has not even taken part in single photo shoot and how could she refuse to payback his money.

Asin replaced Katrina in Kamal Hassan film!

It was earlier reported that Katrina Kaif has been considered to play the female lead in Shankar's multi-lingual with Kamal Haasan (Tamil), Mohanlal (Malayalam) and Prabhas (Telugu). But grapevine is now abuzz that the filmmaker is now toying with the idea of casting Asin as the lead lady in this magnum opus!

Shruti receives a honor from the PM of India

Much after the promo publicity of Kolaveri song, the singer Dhanush got supreme fame. He was invited by the PM office for a dinner hosted by him. Recent inclusion is his proposed address to the gathering at IIM Ahmedabad. Now the heroine of the film 3, Shruti Hassan has been invited from the PM office for the same sort of dinner.
The citation of the honor is not specified but it is learnt that she received the intimation. She will be responding to the invitation and will attend the same. In a way, this could be a better privilege than his father Kamal Hassan who too has not got any such honor.
However, this gesture from the PM office is not an instantaneous. Shruti is a well known name in Bollywood before venturing into Kollywood through the songs from her father’s Unnaipol Oruvan. Of late her name has been on the hit lines after her debut in 7am Arivu and her role in the film 3. More such accolades may come in her way as Shruti Hassan deserves so.

News are speading over that actress Asin will be seen in director Shankar’s next. Recently in a star studded event at Mumbai where Asin was seen chatting up with AR Rahman and Shankar.

Sources say that the actress was seen discussing for a long duration with director Shankar. In that time Shankar has shared the details about his next project and also shown interest in roping her in for the female lead.
The playful Asin was one of the first choices for Shankar’s earlier ventures but they couldn’t team up and now this time it is going to happen says sources.

Rana's upcoming Telugu movie Naa Ishtham End up With Shooting

Daggubati Rana's upcoming Telugu movie Naa Ishtham has finished its shoot some time ago. Also the subbing of the lead pair is over while others are in the process of completing it which then leaves the film's unit with only one thing left to complete; an introduction song of the hero. The shoot of this introduction song is expected to happen soon. The song will be shot in Malaysia informed the producer of the film Paruchuri Kiriti. When asked about the release date, the producer informed that the film would be ready to hit the screens in second half of March. Sources say the film would most likely be released on March 23 to cash in on the Ugadi holidays that would follow immediately.

Naa Ishtham starring Rana and Genilia D'souza is directed by debutant Prakash Tholeti. Music for the film is given by Chakri and is expected to release later this month. The film is a romantic comedy and has reportedly come out well.

A new film titled Ee Rojullo featuring newcomers Srinivas and Reshma is gearing up for its release in March.

Maruthi is making his debut as a director and SKN is the executive producer of this film that has been made on Good Cinema Group.

A R Murugadoss to make a short film before Thuppakki

A R Murugadoss is currently directing a film titled Thuppakki which has Vijay in the lead role. The first schedule of shooting of this film has taken place in Mumbai. The shooting of this film was temporarily stopped because of the recent problems between FEFSI and Producers Council.

So Vijay used this opportunity to promote his film Nanban throughout Tamil Nadu. Now A R Murugadoss has decided to direct a short film. When Murugadoss went for walking, he happens to hear the conversations between two lovers. Their conversation shocked Murugadoss. So he has decided to make a short film based on these lovers. Murugadoss is now in search of a suitable pair among the school children.
So if he gets a suitable pair, he will instantly start making the short film that has a running length of 10mins. Speaking about the film Thuppaki, he says that the crucial scenes will be shot in next schedule and Harris Jayaraj has already composed couple of tracks for the album.

For the first time in Billa-2!

Ajith, Parvathy Omanakuttan and others are starring in the film titled Billa 2. The film which has been directed by Chakri Toleti has the music of Yuvan Shankar Raja. The post production work of this film is going on now.

It is understood that the audio CD of this film is being released during the month of March. The film Billa 2 has been produced at a high cost than estimated. Crores of rupees have been spent for shooting each sequence. Chakri has shot an action sequence in the snow storm featuring Ajith and other stunt actors. This sequence was shot in Georgia.
The crew says that this sequence will be of its first kind in Indian cinema. Similarly there is another helicopter action sequence featuring Ajith and others. This sequence which has been shot at a high cost will be on par with Hollywood films. Ajith instead of using body double has acted in this sequence taking very great risk. Of all the films that Ajith has acted, Billa 2 will be the costliest.

‘Wife’ drags Prabhu Deva’s dad Sundaram to court

Actor Prabhu Deva’s father and well-known choreographer Sundaram is in a spot as yesteryear dance master Tara, 62, has petitioned the family court in Chennai alleging he married her in 1970 and even fathered a son.

She wants Rs 5-crore alimony and a monthly maintenance allowance of Rs 75,000.
Ms Tara told reporters at the court the two became close in 1964 and got married in 1970. A son was born a year later. She said she was a busy choreographer in Kollywood for years but was now finding it difficult to find employment due to age.
“Sundaram Master was giving money till sometime back but has now stopped helping. I need money to take care of my son and so I moved the family court,” Ms Tara said, adding that Mr Sundaram was not responding to summons from the court to appear for counseling.
She said Mr Sundaram had properties in several places but was not helping her despite having promised he would take care of her and their son.
Ms Tara alleged Mr Sundaram’s wife picked up a quarrel with her and took away their photograph (Ms Tara and Mr Sundaram’s) sometime back. Her lawyer Sethuraman said Ms Tara’s son Munna, now about 41 years old, did not have a proper job.
Sundaram Master has more than 1,000 films under his belt. He has three sons, including famous choreographer-actor-director Prabhu Deva, choreographer Raju Sundaram and actor Nagendra Prasad.

Kamal, Mohanlal & Prabhas in Shankar’s trilingual?

Ace director Shankar is all set to make a trilingual in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu.
The Malayalam version will have Mohanlal in the lead while Kamal Haasan plays the hero in Tamil. Prabhas is the hero in Telugu.

The film, titled Thalaivan Irukkiran in Tamil, is being produced by Aascar films Ravichandran. Bollywood sensation Katrina Kaif will play the heroine in all the three versions.
Kamal is currently busy with Viswaroopam which he is producing, directing and acting while Mohanlal is playing the lead in UTV’s maiden production in Malayalam, Grandmaster.

Deepika Padukone in Kochadaiyaan!

Soundarya Rajinikanth has confirmed that it will be Deepika Padukone pairing up with her dad Rajinikanth in Kochadaiyaan. There were rumors that Katrina Kaif would play the female lead in this film but now the role has gone to Deepika.

Interestingly, Deepika was roped in for Rana last year but the project was halted after Rajini's health conditions deteriorated. He was later hospitalized and regained his health, it is worth mentioning here.

Rana has now been put on hold and Soundarya Rajinikanth decided to direct Kochadaiyaan with her dad playing the lead role. KS Ravi Kumar, the director of Rana, is penning the story, screenplay and dialogues for this film.

S Janaki has been hospitalized!

janaki 2 Legendary singer, S Janaki has been hospitalized after a bad fall in the bathroom. She was in Thirupathi for a concert when the unfortunate incident occurred. She has lost a lot of blood and doctors at Sri Venkateshwara Institute of Medical Sciences have said that her condition is critical. Apparently she has sustained injuries to her head and spine and has not yet regained consciousness.

The singer, famed for her mellifluous voice is 74 years old. Her immediately family has rushed to Thirupathi to be with her. The entire film industry is shocked by the news and prayers and well wishes are being offered for her recovery.

Madhuri Dixit's wax statue to be unveiled March 7

The much-awaited wax statue of Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit will be unveiled at London's Madame Tussauds March 7.

"Madame Tussauds unveiling on March 7, 2012. See you then," tweeted Madhuri, who has moved here from Denver to play a new innings in Bollywood.

Known for her natural acting talent and graceful dancing, the 44-year-old is the latest Indian film star to join the A-list line up at the Madame Tussauds wax museum, which also houses statues of Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.

Madhuri's wax statue has reportedly cost 150,000 pounds and it was completed in four months by a team of sculptors and experts in hair, makeup and wardrobe.

The actress is remembered for her performances in "Tezaab", "Ram Lakhan", "Sajan", "Beta", "Dil", "Hum Aapke Hain Koun!", "Dil Toh Pagal Hai" and "Devdas".

After playing a successful long innings and reigning filmdom, she bowed out of Bollywood in 2002 when she married US-based doctor Shriram Madhav Nene. Post-marriage, the actress moved to Denver and got busy with her husband and later two sons.

After marriage, her only release was "Aaja Nachle", but it didn't do well at the box office, however, the dancing queen struck the right chord with her fans when she appeared on the small screen as the judge of dance reality show "Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa 5".

She is currently working on her official website and plans to launch it soon. (IANS)

Ram Charan’s Rachcha unit in Periyar Tiger Reserve in Kerala

Ram Charan's Rachcha unit which had to shoot a song near Periyar Tiger Reserve in Kerala had to return disappointed. They are supposed to shoot a romantic song on Charan and Tamannah on a boat in nearby lake. However, the Reserve's Deputy director was not satisfied with the safety measures taken by the unit and wanted the lead pair to wear Life Jackets. Director Sampath Nandi turned down the idea since it would not look good for a romantic song.

2 Hours of negotiations could not take them anywhere near a solution and finally the shooting has to be called off. Paras Jain and NV Prasad are producing the film on Mega Super Good Films banner. Mani Sharma is composing the music.

His younger daughter Soundarya Ashwin, who is also the director of the movie, posted the first look of Kochadaiyaan on Twitter. She later tweeted, ":):) .... Thank you all so much for all the tweets!! Work going on full swing :) god is great!!!"

The 3D film will feature Rajinikanth alongside R Sarathkumar, Katrina Kaif, Sneha, Aadhi, Shobana, Nassar and Jackie Shroff. Oscar winner AR Rahman is the music director of the movie.

Nayan for Prabhu Deva,Thara for his Father!

As if the problems faced by Prabhu Deva on the ‘Nayanthara’ front aren’t enough, it’s now the turn of his father and celebrated dance choreographer Sundaram to face the heat for something which occurred almost four decades back. A case been filed against the veteran choreographer by dance choreographer Thara who has accused him of committing adultery and ditching her many years ago.

Sundaram has choreographed dance sequences in hundreds of films in various languages. In her petition filed with the Chennai High Court, Thara has said that though Sundaram formally tied the nuptial knot on her and stayed with her for a few months, he ditched her after the birth of a child born out of the wedlock almost 38 years back.

“We got married 38 years back and started leading our lives. He then left for his native place where he married Prabhudeva’s mother. Coming back to me, he said that he had married out of sheer compulsion from parents. Due to my marriage with him, I gave birth to a male child. Sundaram lived with me till four months after the birth of the child and gave me the slip.

“This has obviously had a detrimental effect on me and I toiled like anything. In the child’s birth certificate, Sundaram’s name has been mentioned as the ‘father’. I and my son suffer now with no help forthcoming from any quarters. We have been suffereing economically and request the Court to take action to provide relief and rehabilitation to us. I had kept quiet all these years as I wanted him to live peacefully.

“Now that we are suffering with no help from others, I’m seeking the Court’s help to provide me relief under the law. I want maintenance fee from him regularly,” Thara’s petition ha said. Acting on the petition, the Court has reportedly issued summons to Sundaram
