Can you imagine Keanu Reeves playing a samurai? Actually it's not really that surprising anyway, considered there is other white actors who plays such role before as well. Take Tom Cruise, for instance in 2003's THE LAST SAMURAI.
Now take a first look below at Keanu Reeves as the samurai named Kai in Carl Erik Rinish's upcoming action thriller 47 RONIN, which is scheduled for a November 22, 2012 release.
In the meantime, here's the synopsis below:
Kai (Keanu Reeves), an outcast who joins Oishi (Hiroyuki Sanada), the leader of the 47 Ronin. Together they seek vengeance upon the treacherous overlord who killed their master and banished their kind. To restore honor to their homeland, the warriors embark upon a quest that challenges them with a series of trials that would destroy ordinary warriors. … Inspired by styles as diverse as Miyazaki and Hokusai, Rinsch will bring to life the stunning landscapes and enormous battles that will display the timeless Ronin story to global audiences in a way that's never been seen before.
A samurai movie in the way that's never been seen before? Sounds intriguing enough, but hopefully it's not all gimmick.
