Ilayathalapathy Vijay is one of those actors who don’t believe in changing his appearance, hair-do and over-all look drastically in his films. However, he is all set to undergo a change in his on-screen appearance for his upcoming film Thuppakki which is directed by A.R. Murugadoss. This is for the first time that Murugadoss has been doing a film with Vijay in the lead.
It may be noted that the diminutive director has made two super hit films in Ghajini and 7am Arivuwith Suriya the lead. Now that Vijay has wrapped up the shooting of his Shankar-directed Nanbanwhose audio was recently launched in Coimbatore, he is said to have allotted bulk dates for the shooting of Murugadoss’ film which is billed as an action-packed thriller.
After undergoing a complete change in appearance for his Vaseegara (opposite Sneha) many years back, Vijay had almost decided not to undergo such experiences in any of his future films. His change in appearance in the recent past was only during the song sequences; in Kaavalan which released early this year, though, he had appeared sans his usual stubble.
Vijay’s belief that the film’s script is well-woven and that the film would take him to ‘new heights’ has reportedly made him undergo a change in his get-up for the film, sources close to him point out. Murugadoss, a meticulous planner, has reportedly drawn out the entire shooting schedule with Vijay willing to cooperate as he possibly can to ensure that the film is completed within its originally planned schedule.
The shooting is presently taking place in Mumbai at a good pace. After he completes this film, which hasKajal Aggarwal as his heroine, Vijay is likely to commit himself to doing a film with ace director Gautham Menon.
