Karthi, Pranitha Subhash starrer Shakuni is gearing up for its big release on June 22. Earlier, the makers were planning to release the film on July 6; however, the latest buzz is that the release date has been advanced to June 22. Shankar Dayal has directed the film and Shakuni also stars Santhanam, Prakash Raj and Kota Srinivasa Rao in important roles. Karthi plays the role of a common man who plays mind games with the evil politicians when he gets into politics. He'll be seen in different avatars in the film and his performance is being touted as a major highlight of the film. Most part of the film was shot in Chennai. Currently, the film's re-recording is going on and it'll be censored soon. GV Prakash has composed the music. Bellamkonda Suresh is distributing the film in Andhra Pradesh.
