OK, hear this out — Dhanush is apparently all set to direct a film and that too in Hindi! The actor has been in Mumbai for the past few weeks talking to several leading Bollywood heroes. Though the identity of the hero he's finalized is yet to be revealed, it is understood that the film will start rolling sometime in 2012.
"Dhanush has been in Mumbai for the last couple of weeks, pitching his story to several top actors. Though he has proved himself as an actor in Tamil, his dream was to turn director. Now that he is awaiting the release of his film Mayakkam Enna and 3 is getting completed, he thought it was the right time to take the plunge." Apparently, the storyline was firmed up quite a while ago, but the actor waited for his father-in-law Superstar Rajinikanth's complete recovery before he started actively working on this project.
Post bagging a National Award for his performance in Aadukalam, the star's career seems to have catapulted. The fact that he was almost the official spokesperson for the Rajini household during the Superstar's recent illness has made him a known face in Bollywood circles as well.
Now, it looks like the directing bug has bitten him. Dhanush's wife Aishwarya recently turned director with 3, his current project in which he co-stars with the Ulaganayagan's daughter, Shruti Haasan.
Dhanush's brother, Selvaraghavan, who has directed the actor's next release, Mayakkam Enna, is also an accomplished filmmaker.
