Kollywood: Welcoming 2012

After a busy year at work, K’town stars are all set to unwind and relax this New Year — be it flying off to exotic locations or just spending quality time with family and friends at home sweet home. DC brings you a sneak peek.
Vijay
Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay, who is shooting for his upcoming flick Thuppakki in Mumbai for the last three weeks, has planned to take a break and come back to the city.
“This year, work has occupied most part of December and I just want to be with my wife Sangeetha and the kids during the weekend. I am taking a two day break and will be back on Murugadoss’s sets on January 2,” he says. Sources say that Vijay will host a small party at home for close pals.
Suriya
Suriya is presently busy shooting for Maatraan in the city with K.V. Anand. “I have no plans to travel out of the city for New Year. I have been missing my family because of nonstop work and so I’ve decided to shut myself at home and enjoy a quiet bash here,” he says.
hanush and Aishwarya
For the Kolaveri Di couple, every New Year is exceptional — January 1 happens to be Aishwarya’s birthday as well!
“In fact, both of us are working on January 1 for our film 3 and it is going to be a night shoot. I will go to the temple on that day, then visit my parents and seek their blessings. We are planning to go out for lunch with the entire family,” says Aishwarya.
Khushboo
I make it a point to spend the festive and other special occasions only with my family. I am going on a three-day trip to Kuala Lumpur with my daughters and will be back at work after that.
Sameera Reddy
It’s a double whammy for Sameera. She has bought a plush apartment in Mumbai. Combining housewarming and New Year, the leggy beauty is throwing a big party at home.
“This New Year is starting on a good note. Vettai will be releasing around Pongal. I have just moved into my new home, which calls for a celebration as well. I am hosting a big bash on New Year’s eve at my new residence in Bandra,” she gushes, adding that she is going to be making most of the delicacies herself.
“I try cooking new dishes whenever I get free time. For this bash, I am going to make my favorite specialty dish — yogurt coco curry.”
